About time.
Actually, it would do wonders if you hit them with a subpeona RIGHT THERE and took them into custody until you got the documents IN FRONT OF THE CAMERAS.
More power seems to be shifting to Chairman Nadler. Speaker Pelosi would be wise to simply let him run with impeachment hearings while she focuses on other things and uses her bully pulpit to message that Trump should resign or face consequences one way or another. You never saw Ryan or Boehner get in the way of the GOP Benghazing us with guys like Issa, Gowdy and Chaffetz. Ryan kept saying he supported Mueller while empowering Nunes to obstruct him.

sounds cool. 2 questions. who is doing the taking them into custody? where are they going to hold them?

A. The sergeant-at-arms and the capitol police.
B. The little jail in the basement of the House of Representatives.
You could lure Barr into a cell with chunks of food.
LOL
Little trails of chicken.
âB. The little jail in the basement of the House of Representatives.â
youâve been had.
âYou could lure Barr into a cell with chunks of food.â
tell barr that bart kavanaugh is holding an all night kegger. young chicks available.
In that case, we could either build one or lock them up in the basement of the Redskins stadium.
In other words you want them to be sloppy and not lay the proper ground work in order to appeal to the impatient activists who donât understand process, procedure - in short be like Trump (one of the saving graces is he is impatient, like to play loudly in public to his Base without paying attention to the boring practicalities to make things stick and succeed).
Theyâre playing this smart and well - doing the proper groundwork.
Exactly, in stark contrast to say Trump and the Trumpites.
I have no idea how you created that ridiculous scenario out of my post.
Dems have known that Trump has been obstructing justice since early in his presidency and have had proof of it since the release of the redacted Mueller report. They already know from past experience in Washington that presidents under siege (and their respective party) will delay the process, hoping to run out the clock. There is absolutely no reason that they shouldnât have been prepared for this fight and already had their ducks in a row.
If you have evidence that delaying the vote until next week is based on some grand plan, please present it. While youâre at it, show why they couldnât have been prepared for this and thus avoided yet another delay within the extremely short window of time in which we have to act.
What the Activist opposition knows (or has convinced itself of ) and what will stand up in courts, which is what counts, are two different things.
What âthe Demsâ âknowâ is meaningless. What will win a legal and court battle is meaningful. Josh is 100% spot on.
And spare the "if you have evidenceâ boring internet posturing. No one has âevidenceâ here.
I still donât get how you got to me wanting sloppy from me wanting expediency. Even Josh has noted the committeesâs lack of urgency. In his post today about Neal, the WAM committee staffers even noted the lack of urgency when Josh was talking to them.
I have been fully supportive of doing the process correctly and of not rushing to impeachment. You can read through my extensive posting if you donât take me at my word. But a lot of extremely well-infomed and well-connected people are saying exactly what Iâm saying: the Demâs need to step up the pace because time is literally running out.
The special sauce in this case is ⌠wishful thinking.
Artisanal, organic, free-range, locally sourced, highly unicorny, wishful thinking but still ⌠wishful thinking.
Subpoena, from Latin, sub (under) poena (pain). It doesnât get much more clear.
It better be undoable if the goppers look like they might be getting power back.
