The measure, which passed 238-183, would also block tax credits for some people and businesses buying abortion coverage under former President Barack Obamaâs health care law.
Depending on how folks voted, at least 10 Democrats just asked to get primaried.

If Trump signs this bill into law there wonât be any grand proclamations. No doubt that Trumpâs personal history with abortion is complicated. I can imagine it could get ugly.
Got my back alley picked out and got my knitting needles ready, soon to be a newly employed Trump generated job holder.
True
But one of the major issues from that march, was about reproductive rights.
Either there is a ticked off electorate or everyone is cool
It just goes to show you that the Republicans stand by their small federal government philosophy. They also, with this vote reaffirmed their commitment to keeping government out of the individual decisions of the people.
Way to go boys, you are remaining true to your âhypocritical oath.â
A sound business decision on your part.
There is no evidence that the rule, known as the âMexico City policyâ or âglobal gag rule,â has been effective in reducing the number of overseas abortions performed under any administration. But research suggests that the ban can, in fact, have the opposite, effect of increasing the number of unsafe or illegal abortion procedures.
Why Trump froze funding to overseas groups that âpromoteâ abortion.
ârespect for weak and vulnerable children in the womb,â
Once out, you are all on your own.
Feels like some payback for the Womenâs March which was a LOT BIGGER than the inauguration turn out.
âPro-life Americans struggle for the day when abortion violence will be replaced by compassion and empathy for women and respect for weak and vulnerable children in the womb,â
Argggh! The whole âabortion is anti womanâ anti-choice talking point makes me see red. Empathy and compassion for women is letting women make decisions for themselves, just like men do.
Saw some op-ed piece on CNN from a âprolife feministâ (Iâm a guy, and consider myself a feminist, but donât pretend to be extremely knowledgeable about the details of feminist philosophy, so Iâll ask this instead of stating it as fact: isnât this an oxymoron?) complaining about being disinvited to last weekendâs womanâs march. And she went on and on and on for paragraphs with what was basically the same argument this jackass is using.
And⌠I couldnât finish it. I try to absorb viewpoints from the other side (if only to know what fuckery theyâre about to get up to next), but when theyâre so stupid and⌠perniciously vapid⌠I just canât canât even read their drivel.
It might be a good idea to shift our gaze away from trumpâs nonsense for a bit and start looking closer at what Ryan is doing in the House. Ryan must be happy that tump is such a media whore causing everyone to chase his squirrels while Ryan stays well below the radar.
âRyan must be happy that trump is such a media whore causing everyone to chase his squirrels while Ryan stays well below the radar.â
I think thatâs the plan.
I mean Trump has likely paid for some and coerced some. It would be awkward for him to denigrate abortion in a victory speech prohibiting it for poor women.
Mean-spirited, uncaring jerks.
The anti-abortion people were at the March in Santa Ana, California with their gruesome photos. Two young women holding them for all to see.
Is that an old photo or is Mean Jean Schmidt back in Washington?
Just let me know when to stop thanking the berniebots.
Looks like 2 Dems voted âAyeâ and I counted 7 for âNo Voteâ.

This is one of the reasons Iâm not a big fan of a single-payer system. Itâs bad enough with the current government regulation of the credits and subsidies for insurance. Can you imagine what it will be like to have Republicans micro-manage reproductive health coverage for a completely government-run health system?
Iâd like to know how Scott DesJarlais voted.
