Discussion: House Oversight Chair Chaffetz To Join Fox News As Political Analyst

I guess he’ll be doing this from his home in Provo, right? After all, the reason he offered for resigning from Congress is that he misses his family and can’t afford a home in Utah as well as one in DC.

Or could he have simply been lying to us? Quelle horreur!

Break legs, Jason!

Made-up leg injuries can be brutal. Just ask Keyser Söze.

So I guess he won’t be requesting that $2,500 per month congressional housing allowance, right?

I’m not sure if the timing is favorable to Chaffetz. He could be giving Mueller extra material to work with, as undoubtedly he will be asked his opinion of the Russia investigation often.

I hope they have a comfortable cot for him.

I’m almost looking forward to this as much as having Gowdy take over the House Oversight Committee. This is all a gift that keeps on giving.

I guess Chaffetz won’t have to bow out from Fox programming for emergency foot surgery as often.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House oversight committee, announced on Thursday that he'll be leaving office on June 30, 18 months before the end of his congressional term.

Rumor has it Roger Ailes said Fox would hire Chaffetz “Over my dead body”

Oooooweeeoooooo

Will he get Caribou Barbie’s old dressing room?

So, can we safely and entirely reject the rumor now that the FBI has kompromats on him or something like that? I still don’t think this move of resignation at this point by a high-profile guy in his position would make any sense, so I won’t rule out the possibility there may be something else fishy going on (and the guy leaked the info he shouldn’t have, anyway). But he hasn’t been acting like someone guilty since the abrupt resignation news broke, either.

I just hope his foot is all healed so he can start sticking it back into his mouth.

I thought he already was a Fox analyst.

This is highly unusual, especially since he’s in his 50s, you know and was tired of sleeping on the floor of his office.

Now he’ll have even less time “to spend with his family” seeing that he’ll be analyzing how Killary got away with her Benghazi murder spree.

Oh, had never believed that at all. Always knew he was just a garden variety asshole.

Fox News’ personnel policy for on air personalities dictates that sociopaths get hiring preference. Scoot over, Hannity.

Oh, no, no – like all Republicans in Congress, he is a Fox diplomat who is (currently) paid by the taxpayers. Soon, he’ll be moving up to Fox employee being paid directly by Fox. At one time in years past, Fox was owned by the GOP, but now the GOP is owned by Fox.

I thought the reason he was leaving Congress was all about that damn cot. The way it looks, he’ll be spending more time in NYC if he’s working for Faux News, where the cost of living is on par with DC or can easily exceed that…and there won’t be a permanent cot with his name on it in their Green Room. So basically, he’ll have to pay through the nose for temporary lodgings if he still wants to travel back and forth to UT to be with his family. Something tells me this has nothing to do with his family. I don’t believe the reason he’s quitting is to save money either. Its simply a better way for him to cash out and avoid all that public service crap he seems to have a disdain for and ignores anyway. Its also a good way to avoid public humiliation as a quitter.
