Discussion: House Judiciary Dems Defend Sessions: Firing Would Ignite ‘Waterfall' Of 'Crisis'

What are the odds that Putin, who desires to disrupt and hamstring the US government, is secretly pushing Trump’s buttons to get him to fire Mueller?

“They want to begin a unilateral investigation on issues that deal with individuals who are no longer in federal government, but they will not look at the President of the United States, who has a history of firing, misleading, calling it a witch hunt and intimidating the deputy attorney general and Attorney General Elliott Richardson…"

Oops…I mean Jeff Sessions"

“While no one has been a bigger critic of Jeff Sessions than me, nobody,” Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) said, “with all the damage that Sessions has done and may still do to voting rights, to immigrants, to Latinos, to women, to muslims — if Trump fires Sessions in order to rein in the Russia investigation, there would be no choice, but for this committee to go forward with impeachment. … It will leave a lot of Republicans with no choice but to go forward with us.”

So the Democrats are arguing against firing a racist, perjuring, Republican Attorney General despite all the damage he is doing because it would lead to the impeachment of Donald Trump?

I guess Pelosi’s House Democrats are still fighting desperately to keep impeachment “off the table.” This makes sense since the DCCC’s main campaign theme is “Defeat Trump’s Republican House.”

Without Trump, how can they expect to win in November?

And, by the way, impeachment is not a “Constitutional crisis.” Impeachment is part of the Constitution.

I recognize that the GOP holds all the cards here, but wouldn’t it be nice if ALL the Dems without exception voted against this omnibus and went on every news program to defend that decision as a result of the failure to protect Mueller?

But no. They won’t. The GOP will go on every news program to accuse the Dems of shutting down the government once again. And the Dems will scurry back into their dark offices and not speak to anyone.

Is it any wonder we’re in this predicament?

My lord, are these House judiciary Democrats naive. If the Republican caucus doesn’t want impeachment proceedings to start, they won’t start. Does any rational person doubt that?!

Flying pigs? Potomac frozen in March? Spring snow in Atlanta? Luis Gutierrez defending Jeff Sessions?

It is the end days, absolutely.

That’s pouring it on a bit thick.

Come to think of it, the way Pruitt is screwing up the environment, it may very well be possible to ignite a waterfall one of these days.

I’m sorry, but I think if the president wants to hang himself with obstructing justice, then we should LET HIM.
