We heard the same tune throughout the campaign – what Trump and the GOP were persistently doing was to criminalize their opponents. And it seems they are trying to sing the same song…

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that communications with Russians tied to Putin (both official and non-official ie oligarchs in Putin’s orbit) are being monitored as often as always. If you call, or receive a call from such a Russian your calls are very likely going to be recorded. As I understand FISA, this is perfectly legal. They are monitoring the foreign national, not the American. As a progressive and a US citizen I’m fine with this.

If official channels don’t want to take action against Americans who have inappropriate contact with foreign nationals, than I’m good with the leaks too.

Avoiding these problems and/or embarrassments is as simply as remembering whose side your on.

This is where you’re going with this, Nunes? You’re going to try to stop the leaks?

Another leading theory:

“It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, OK?”

Go back and watch Nunes again.

He intentionally spent 2-3 times more air time talking about the possible taping of aides, etc. rather than discuss Trump’s clearly phony charge. This a-hole is shading the real issue here and will continue to provide cover for Trump by saying, as he did, crimes were committed here.

So, what about Trump’s crime of falsely and maliciously accusing Presdient Obama of a crime? Huh, whatta say to that, you punk!

What is it Republicans used to always say about the Patriot Act about its intrusiveness in our lives?..“If you have nothing to hide, what are you afraid of?”

Seems Nunes suddenly forgot the ole standby talking point now that some incidental sweep might have collected info. on Trump’s inner circle of thugs.

In a crazy world where Russian spies meddle at the highest levels of the U.S. government, and POTUS makes wild unsubstantiated accusations against his predecessor, Vidkun Nunes is hot on the trail of … our own intelligence community.

But not to worry, the R’s in Congress will act as a check on Trump.

A RUBBER check, that is.

So, it’s okay to commit treason, as long as you’re involved in a campaign?

Excellent Philip Bump bit…

Maggie Haberman pointed out that the use of “totally” in the White House statement is very much a hallmark of a Trump comment.

This will be their unending witch hunt distraction for avoiding and attempting to completely undermine and delegitimize the Trump-Russia investigation.

This is beginning to look a bit too much like Benghazi! Benghazi! Benghazi! the sequel.

Stop with this distracting nonsense and do your fucking jobs.

Didn’t have a problem when it was Comey leaking, or Trump aiding and abetting Russian intelligence to wiretap his opponents.

Right wing personal responsibility meme: “if you don’t wanna be wiretapped, don’t talk to the bad guys.”

Intelligence community’s “incidental collection of (Trump staffers’ conversations with Russian spies)…"

“I do want to underscore that this is a separate matter from whether the President’s allegations have any truth,” Schiff said. “We’re talking about both these issues, but the two are not related.”

It is stunning that an American president would make up allegations of such gravity with no push back by the Senate or Congress. We should be thankful for the Schiffs who will not let this go without holding the President accountable. Almost equally stunning was Trump’s lie re the 3-5 million undocumented voters whom he said voted for his opponent. He must be called out each and every time he treats matters of such great gravity as cavalierly as if he lied on a tv show.

The plutocrats who own the GOP/Teatrolls are absolutely pissed that they have wealthy competition and are demanding abuses of power to attack an American citizen. They want his ability to fund opposition to their agenda eviscerated.

no shit Sherlock. We tap their citizens, they tap ours. Cheney figured this out years ago.

That too has its ironies…

Ivanka Trump’s brand has discontinued its high-end jewelry collection, focusing on more affordable fashion jewelry instead…Many pieces in the fashion jewelry line, which is sold at Lord & Taylor, are priced under $100

Oh…and the business? Totally…what? Huh? I can’t hear you…

In the 2016 election, the personal communications of top campaign officials were illegally intercepted and made public for the purposes of inflicting political damage on the opposing candidate. This is an incontrovertible fact.

Perhaps Mr. Nunes can explain to the American people whose campaign was the victim of this crime, who perpetrated it, and for what reason.
