Discussion: House Intel Committee Moves Forward With Probe Into Russian Election Hacks

House Intelligence Committee? Led by the GOP?

Sounds like alternate facts to me.

Bravo. I hope they live up to their goals. I would urge consideration or review to determine if any possible classified activities of the various intelligence services obstructed or hindered discovery or eventual countermeasures.

I smell something burning, with a hint of citrus.

Will be interesting to see if Trump tries to publicly interfere with either investigation.

They know they have to go forward with this, once the Obama administration shamed them into it. But the Dems need to make sure it is not going to somehow be absorbed into the “voter fraud” investigation, and thus effectively disappeared.

I won’t be surprised if the investigation gets shut down slightly ahead of when they are to announce results.

What can we do to get a 9/11 style select committee to investigate instead of burying this in the Intel Committee?

$6M dollars later, the GOPers controlling the committee will release their extremely succinct report: “Nuh uh.”

How many man-hours have already been wasted trying to convince President Man Baby he lost the popular vote?

Put Ceti eel larvae from The Wrath of Khan in their ears to gain control of their minds. And if anyone has a better idea, smartypantses, trot it out.

Trump’s alternative fact of the day:

It’s not Russian hacking, Comey’s FBI antics and fake news that we have to worry about; it’s individual undocumented voters risking everything (including prison and deportation) to cast single votes.

The republicans are much too happy with all their nihilistic dreams coming true to call for a select committee. The only way this happens is if a major new piece of information pointing at collusion is made public. We need a leak either from the IC or from whoever is worriedly leaking from the WH.

We need a leak from somewhere in the doleful absence of Democratic control of Congress. But at least there are multiple potential leak sources—even from overseas. The whole world is concerned about this.

From the moment McConnell realized he had been outed as an accessory after the fact, getting the investigation bottled up behind the secrecy of the intelligence committees was Plan B of OPERATION: NO SPECIAL COUNSEL.

Yes it is and I was just reading a piece about how successful the Women’s March really was - it drove PeePee insane and we know he’s fragile.

It also almost scared the GOP into wetting its pants so if we keep it up we are going to break these people. We are = we are a huge majority and the world is with US.

Short term trump serves as a great distraction from the congressional Republican agenda, while simultaneously signing their bills and approving their judges, but they have to be a bit nervous about his erratic behavior, as well as his proclivity for attacking them if he feels they aren’t showing enough fealty.

I would be surprised if they aren’t interested in gathering damaging information on trump, to either use as leverage with him in the future, or to drop publicly when things go south, and the blame game begins. The risk of course is that the Dems on the committee spill the beans too early.

@win–“It’s not Russian hacking, Comey’s FBI antics and fake news that we have to worry about; it’s individual undocumented voters risking everything (including prison and deportation) to cast single votes.”

Yup—And the only person I know of who voted twice in this election was this sad sack Trump supporter.

What does sad Donnie have to say about that?
