Discussion: House GOPers Would Rather Talk About Anything Other Than The Mueller Report

I think it just might be about trying to inform the public and soften them up for impeachment.

and @texastwostep Lance Gooden. I just want to die.

Gaetz made an utter fool of himself. One of Gaetz’s questions to Dean that he yelled went something like this, " Ok since we’re talkin’ about big things here, how are we going to pay for Medicare for all?" He may have said this twice. Dean very calmly stated, Actually Nixon had a health care plan. There were snickers in the gallery.

Jordan also yelled and made speeches and was quite obnoxious with his deep state conspiracy crapola and was admonished by Nadler for his disparaging Dean…

Gohmert, Mr. conspiracy theory displayed his utter stupidity in a way that only Gohmert can.

It was clear to me that the Repubs did not want to discuss the Mueller report. McQuaid and Vance-White were very good when discussing the elements of obstruction and when it becomes a crime. The guy from the Heritage Foundation said POTUS was above the law and that’s about it.

Oh and I almost forgot some Republican Rep.noted that no one on the panel was a fact witness aand what the committee needed were the actual witnesses -he may have named a couple. Nadler replied -we will have fact witnesses, they will be here.

I long ago concluded he almost never has anything insightful to add to any discussion. Now I just scroll on by.

Geez. Gooden. What a Goober. :joy:( don’t often get to use that term). Right up there with Louie ā€œI’m so stupid [fill in the blank].

Sorry folks. We are a big state and we can’t manage every corner of this big Red Sea. But, we are trying.

We promise.

Yep I told him in one email that he was a Radical Republican and he might as well be Louie Gohmert or Ted Cruz and I bet he was flattered.

He’s going to hate me when it’s all said and done.

I really hope Democrats use these guys in ads that say this is your Republican Congress. In all honesty, though, what did they expect?

I haven’t read most of his books, but I did read the first one, Conservatives without Conscience, and he explains in the preface how he was dragged back into the political world. In the early '90s, some conservative greenhorns that hadn’t been born when Watergate occurred were preparing to publish a ā€œtell-allā€ book revealing how Dean and his wife (then girlfriend) were actually the ones behind the break-in and Dean pinned it on President Nixon.

The book was going to go so far as to assert that his future wife was running a prostitution ring for the Democrats out of the Watergate hotel and that was the impetus for the whole scandal. Dean made it clear to the publishing company that they would be seeing a defamation suit before a single book hit the presses and they backed down.

But that pulled Dean back out of the private sector to try to figure out how such a nonsense, counterfactual idea could get a book deal in the modern conservative movement. And based on the circus testimony today, even though the book was never printed, it’s clear that the ideas behind it have continued to permeate the fever swamp. It’s not uncommon for the GOP today to accuse Dean of being behind the break-in and Nixon to be just an innocent bystander (see Gohmert, Louie).

I should be (but am not) continually surprised at the lengths some of these Congresscritters will go to carry water for and distract from Trump’s obvious crimes. One wonders what they hope to gain other than complete opprobrium and disrespect once he is finally convicted. It’s beyond disgusting.

When Jordan admits he failed to act with the Ohio State wrestling issue then and only then can we pay attention to him. And, he must find his suit coat. Be an adult and dress like one who respects decorum.

I’m glad the Dems read directly from and pointed back to the Mueller report. It’s damming evidence, and the more it gets out the clearer it will be for the Faux people.
