Discussion: House GOPer Blames Iraq War For 'The Chaos We Have Now' With ISIS

Discussion for article #227193

For his comment about Cheney and the 2003 invasion of Iraq…this guy will not be popular in GOP circles.

I wonder … would he be happy with another saddam?

He’s not in a swing district either.

Hey Obama–thanks for invading Iraq in 2003. While you’re at it, apologize for 9/11. And then resign.

Strange things happen in politics.

It isn’t widely known but they now have evidence linking the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand to Obama. It is the first documented case of the “distraction” strategy.

"He also lamented that President Obama “bypassed the constitution and bombed Libya.”

He Did ?

This is one of those rare times when I completely agree with a Republican.

If they are now blaming the rise if Isis today because of what happened in 2003 when GWB ordered the invasion of Iraq and that invasion was all based on 100% phony evidence, that would make GWB 100% culpable for bringing Isis into existence.

Little by little I think this truth will start making it’s way into this ISIS conversation,we the American people know who,and how this started.

I’m guessing that’s not what he meant. what he meant was, that (and there is pretty much universal agreement on this point) saddam was clearly evil and a dictator but, like the former USSR, he kept the religious fanatics from blowing up the country, and possibly destabilizing the rest of area.

so, bush goes in, with barely a plan on how to get rid of saddam, and no plan whatever on what to do afterwards. this has led to the utter chaos the country is now engulfed in.

the tea party must absolutely hate rep. jones, I’m surprised he wasn’t brutally primaried. maybe there aren’t as many lunatics in NC, as the lunatics would have you believe?

Most of us who post here are aware that blame is a thriving industry on the Right.

Presently, there is a glimmer of hope that Democratic voters might defy the “Off-Year-Election” doldrums and vote this November.

The Republican Noise Machine will crank-up and start rumbling, using ISIS as a theme. This should make us redouble even more our efforts to vote in 2014.

Pssssst…No, you’re supposed to blame Obama. Didn’t you get the memo?

The media is doing it’s best to hide this fact because they want the current headlines and the understanding of how this all started would hurt the story line. ISIS is the karma due because most Americans are too stupid to know we killed one hundred thousand Iraqis for W’s political capital.

There is an old Irish saying: the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. In both Iraq and Syria, we deposed dictators who were the glue that kept the countries together and kept all the crazy people from killing one another. Tyrants and reprehensible humans though they were, sometimes it takes a crazy guy to keep other crazy people mollified.

Easy to criticize LBJ now. What would he done back then?

What gave him his first clue?

Ah, but when you recall Romnoid referring to the Soviet Union, you won’t be so shocked, shocked.

This dumb bastard doesn’t know Saint Ronnie bombed Libya.

I understand he is in a “safe” district. So, he can say what he wants I guess.
