Kinzinger a real puppy dog.

Iraq doesn’t belong to us, it never did.

Not sure why you give a fuck about it.

If Republicans think Iraq is so [v]ital to the U.S. – why don’t they build settlements and live there, so they can fight for the Iraqis full-time? It’s not like we’ll miss 'em.

And a a goddamn STUPID one at that!

I think our best for hope is the preservation of the Iraqi state,

News flash for the idiot: Iraq was NEVER a state; it was piece of land cobnbled together decades ago by the Europeans and preserved by the Americans. Its natural borders will be quite different going forward.

but I think it gives breathing room for the Iraqi government to be able to counter-attack, to be able to buy some time."

The Maliki coalition (not government) is tenuous at best. It doesn’t need time; it needs to be rid of Maliki. But, in the event that happened, then what? Saddam understood that the only way to preserve an “Iraq state” was to have a brutal strongman at the helm acting as the glue that keeps it bound together. It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. I think if it were, it would have happened by now.

As for airstrikes, who EXACT:LY are we going to be bombing? Which one’s the enemy, now??

Maybe we can start a Crusaders Corp and get all these tough white conservatives who are itching for more war to join. Send them over to the middle east meat grinder. I can’t think of a better way to reduce our ignorant white trash population.

What an ignorant man. Does he think that ISIS is just composed of a group of terrorist who has no connection to the people in Iraq?? Most of the ISIS group is composed of Iraq Sunni. How else does this ignorant man think that ISIS captured Sunni dominated cities so easy? No, I think that Iraq should be partitioned like it was meant to be. The Sunni and the Shite don’t want Americans in their country and we should heed that. If the US starts bombing Iraq we will become the number 1 enemy again in the middle east. It will bring Sunni from all over to Iraq just to attack the US. There is a political solution and the Shite, Sunni and Kurds can solve it.

Wait a second. AQ is full of guys that can’t even be held by American Supermax prisons.

So ISIS is…what? A bunch of Kryptonians slumming it on Earth?

“He said if the U.S. waits for a political solution ‘we’re not going to have a state left.’”

Representative Kinzinger,

Thank you and your men for for putting your lives in danger in the service of your country’s foreign policy. However, your observation inadvertently nails the intentions of the Iraq invasion envisioners.

You, American soldiers of all ranks, and hundreds of millions of American citizens were played for suckers about what the killing, the dying, the human suffering was really for. Perhaps even two American Presidents didn’t know.

Tragically, the truth was always out there and internet accessible.

For a longer, more sophisticated and intelligent look at the situation in Iraq and the genesis of ISIS (and written in an entertaining style as well) try this http://pando.com/2014/06/16/the-war-nerd-heres-everything-you-need-to-know-about-too-extreme-for-al-qaeda-i-s-i-s/

jesus, the freaking level of stupidity in comments from these morons is depressing when you realize they are the ones making policy…
i saw mike rogers on msnbc yesterday, and he must have said ‘al gaeda’ a dozen times within the 5 minutes of airtime he was given… so, now, all the repugs will be saying ISIS ISIS ISIS…
it’s so hard to keep up…

We already have a Crusaders Corp. We call it our “military.”

If you have any doubt, recall the proselytization and mandatory Christian religious service attendance ordered at our military academies. Recall how General Pace thought of Bush as sitting at god’s right hand, how General Boykin who, reflecting on a battle with a Muslim warlord, claimed his god was bigger than theirs, and how Bush himself claimed god told him to invade Iraq.

Always nice to get a pilot’s viewpoint on Al Qaeda, I’m sure he had lots of run ins with AQ and terrorists flying those planes.

“Does he want to send back U.S. ground troops?”

That’s not the right question. The right question is, “Does he want to send back U.S. ground troops - and pay for it with a tax increase?”

When all you’ve got is an F-16 every problem looks like a nail.

Who are we supposed to bomb? It’s my understanding that the ISIS fighters meld in with the civilians and that many of the Sunnis fighting along side ISIS would be considered moderate. The Sunnis kicked out the extremists before but if we start bombing indiscriminately that will just radicalize the moderates.

That’s the difference between John McCain and Chuck Hagel.

Thank you and doesn’t America have a bad enough rap as it is regarding the use of weaponized drones??
