Discussion: House Dems: Flynn Didn't Report Saudi Trip To Work On US-Russia Nuclear Deal

If this clown doesn’t end up in the slammer, we’re going to have to erase “perjury” from the dictionary.

“We have no record of General Flynn reporting this trip or any contacts
with foreign officials on his security clearance renewal application or
in his interview with security clearance investigators,” Cummings and
Engel wrote.

What’s all the fuss? A clear answer of, “I don’t recall” worked for the AG many times.

Didn’t this get reported much earlier this month? Maybe more reporting will help flip him.

But hey, as long as ‘snowflake liberals’ are upset and we can drink their Perrier tears, and post 4 year old Benghazi and uranium selling memes, we’re good.

Flynn - keeps looking dirtier and dirtier regarding Russia.

Isn’t Trump co all concerned about Iran and Nuclear Power capacity - because they export terror? Not a problem with Saudia Arabia - as long as it is allied with Trump, eh? They don’t export or fund terrorism - no Saudi $ or citizens involved in 9-11 or any attack before or since.

Can’t wait to keep hearing TrumpCo keep praising how honorable of a man Flynn is. Not.

Difficult to see how he doesn’t go down hard - and to suspect that there is even more hear because the smoke is becoming blinding.

If Jefferson Beauregard “I do no recall” Sessions III doesn’t wind up in a cell the next block over, then there’s not much hope for the word even if Flynn does go down.

He didn’t know Saudi Arabia was a foreign country – thought he was in East Texas.

so much unreported “business”

like trying to discern the odor of a fart at a waste water treatment facility, just gets lost in the sulfide

It is simply unimaginable that someone with Flynn’s background in intelligence could not know that a foreign business trip involving Saudis and Russians and nuclear technology for crying out loud was reportable.

Calling this guy a loose cannon would be a gross injustice to every uncontrolled artillery piece that ever careened wildly across a ship’s deck. At least in those cases, the damage done was accidental.

It was a “business venture,” which is what the Republican job creators do to boost the economy. If there was anything untoward about it the invisible hand of the market place would step to make any necessary corrections. Just another witch hunt.

Shit, man, Flynn is giving hypocrites a bad name!!! Whoa!!! He is the worst!!

I assume Flynn took this trip without permission from then President Obama or his Administration.

How can this be? Thus goes way beyond a private business venture. Seems like the kind of thing that should be run by the Secretary of State.

Yet another nail in Flynn’s coffin!

So why did he choose not to report this?

Of course, having this discussed during his confirmation hearing would have been awkward but I doubt the GOP would have not confirmed anyway, even if they knew about this deal or the other foreign contacts. It would have been spun as “business as usual” and there would have been outcries against anyone thinking this was not ok or that Trump shouldn’t be given the opportunity to hire whomever he pleases. Worst case, he wouldn’t get that job and could go back to being international man of business.

But that’s not what he did. He chose with eyes wide open to take a big risk by not reporting this and other encounters, to lie on the security clearance forms and to lie to Congress about them. Why?

Trump will pardon him if convicted.

Head of the NSC is not subject to Senate confirmation, so he was never “vetted” by the Senate and clearly never vetted by the transition team (at least regarding checking for skeletons in closets and such). The Trump chumps thought they could bring anyone they wanted in, no matter what.
