Discussion: House Democrat Lets His Own Trump Impeachment Resolution Die Sans Vote

Saclessness: not just a partisan issue.

Impeachment is an inherently political process. But whatever can be done to let the earth be salted due to the malignancy of many and the “caution” of others should definitely prevail. After all, it’s proven to be a winning strategy across time and space in human history.

What are the rules he may have violated? If you don’t have that case, you’re just participating in more heresay,” Pelosi said in May on CNN

HEARSAY, not heresay. Just thought I’d share that.

Calling for the investigation of his enemies in the media would be enough for the other side of the aisle if Trump were a Dem, so its all politics in the end.

The House looks more and more like the Russian lower-house Duma. The $50 billion, for example, that went to the Sochi Winter Olympics, mostly went to graft. Similarly, the situation in Puerto Rico, or any disaster these days, seems to be turning into a similar sort of money machine for friends of the party in power.

“There is no urgency in the government response to this humanitarian crisis,” Andrés said. “They have all the officials and armed guards at headquarters, but they have no information about the island. They don’t even have a map they can share about who needs food. Fema is over-paying and it is under-delivering.”

It is all very Putin-esque and the money amounts are on the order of the Sochi Olympics. Trump signs emergency orders, the House dispenses cash, poor results, happy cronies. Notably 1) no coherent short-term response in place. 2) no coherent long-term response under development even with an emerging need to have climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies in place. Resilience and population displacement, both very real issues, are not mentioned. The recent appointment of Kelly’s aide to DHS chief is very much in line with the “spice must flow” narrative of keeping cronies in the loop.
