The party of personal responsibility once again reveals its true face.

And how does the House point the finger at Obama, which is what the headline states?

They sure love to dish it out, but they sure can’t take it.

The mid-term elections are less than 4 months away. No wonder the GOP is pointing at the Obama administration.

“The SEC purports to be investigating an alleged leak of a particular health care reimbursement rate which, if it occurred at all, must have originated at (the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services),” the House counsel wrote in the brief, which asks a Manhattan federal court to dismiss the SEC’s lawsuit to force compliance with the subpoenas.

Maybe the word administration took up too much room in the headline.

Romath’s question still holds. The response from the House MAY lead to someone in HHS, but I was unaware that Obama directs the daily activities of each HHS employee. If so, then maybe he really can do time travel.

But, otherwise, it falls under the “Administration” umbrella, as was written in the article.

But, it’s nice to know, that even with all the sign-ups from Josh’s omnipresent blegging over the last month, they still can’t afford to pay an Editor who knows how to edit headlines. Must be a skill that’s gone the way of the buggy whip and DOS.

A prime example of back and forth mudslinging!! The Republicans are going through extraordinary efforts to protect a lowly House aid. Do they think he can be easily manipulated into leaking some more stuff that he shouldn’t, or is he merely a victim of circumstances?? House aids are notorious leakers, so it isn’t a stretch to say that Republicans want to sling mud, turn the tables and manufacture yet another crisis against the Obama Administration creating a diversion, as they continue on their hunting misadventure that will blow up in their faces yet again!!

Hmmm, you might be right.

Recently, I saw the word “Admin” (in upper case) used in a headline; it referred to the Obama Administration. I guess it’s not in common usage yet.

And - assuming you weren’t joking/snarking: more than one other headline has more characters than the current one - which would still have the same number if “Admin” were substituted for “Obama.”

Of course, I apparently have a little too much time on my hands.

Actually yeah, I was being snarky, sort of. When I first read the headline, I thought, jeez, those GOP poo-poo heads (pardon my language, but I have an 8 yo grandson who’s a bad influence) can’t stop making up stuff about Obama. Now he’s guilty of insider trading. But then I read the article and thought, gee, maybe there’s a headline word limit, so I went with that.

Unlike you, I was too lazy to count characters in headlines. But thank you for having too much time on your hands and doing it for me!

this back and forth blamegame is just another distraction from the real issue, that i would argue is how congress and its staff have exempted themselves from any insider trading laws… that the rest of us will be prosecuted for:

So, actual evidence isn’t required, right? Just “It wasn’t us!” as a response.

I didn’t know that separation of powers included criminal matters?

Much better click bait material which is what TPM excels at. After all, it is a holiday weekend and it’s a slow news weekend

Well, I’m sure the right wingers thank the Lard Obama beat Hillary. When it comes to manipulating the public, racism is so much more powerful than misogyny. Even right wingers had a mother, but she wasn’t black.

I find it somewhat odd how confrontational that letter was. Not that I’m a lawyer or have inside info on how this sort of thing normally plays out, but to me, that response seems overly personal and can’t imagine it sitting well with a judge. Why, it’s almost as if they’ve got something to hide…

Seriously, it’s like the old saying goes and they’ve already moved past arguing the facts or the law, and are just pounding the table.

Really? Are we to imagine that House Republicans make a distinction between Obama and his Admin? It’s the same issue with the fake IRS scandal, which at its worst only involves the IRS, but which conservatives tie directly to Obama regardless of the truth.

Because really, Republicans don’t give a flip about what the government does, except for how it ties to Obama and what an out of control tyrant he supposedly is. So I don’t think it’s too difficult to see how this is really about Obama, even though they didn’t mention him specifically. Because that’s who the target really is, and if they didn’t think it’d hurt him in some way, they wouldn’t even care.

They then clicked their heels together three times and started chanting “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi”, oblivious to the irony.
