Discussion: Hotel Where Vegas Gunman Stayed Questions Revised Timeline Of Massacre

So , Paddock would have had to shoot downwards to shoot the Guard in the leg - through a door ?

Unless the holes in door were drilled low. But aren’t hotel doors metal? Wouldn’t drilling through metal doors make a hell of a lot of noise?

Out of respect for the victims, isn’t it too early to be solutions to communication issues?

Better communication won’t solve every problem with deranged people so let’s not talk about it.

Of course this is nonsense. Just as when they say the same about gun control.

That assumes that the guard was struck directly andt not by a ricochet.

OT but related…

Suburban Chicago Republicans moving ahead with gun giveaway fundraiser 2 weeks after Las Vegas massacre

The doors are hollow metal, though sometimes heavy gauge. But drilling small holes (for wires) from inside the room would not make a lot of noise. Boring a 2" hole would, but these were small holes with a small drill bit. Pretty easy drilling actually.

I can understand that it might take more than six minutes for the police to arrive with a tactical unit prepared to enter the hotel room – by which time Paddock would have started shooting – but it certainly raises questions about the sequence of events, and whether there were delays from the hotel in summoning the police or delays in the police response after being notified of the hotel shooting. I think it’s unfair to identify the man who was shot, since he evidently notified security immediately, as one would expect. He certainly would not be expected to do more than that under the circumstances.

The security guard was unarmed. The best he could be expected to do was exactly what he did. He and the maintenance man are damn lucky they weren’t killed. Two hundred shots through the door wouldn’t leave much of the door. Are they sure about the 200 round through the door number. Twenty is a common size for an AR magazine. It is doubtful the shooter would have spent time reloading.

Remember, Paddock was a HIGH ROLLER and the Hotel had given him the room for FREE as a Perk.

They let HIGH ROLLERS do pretty much whatever the fuck they want to in Vegas and tell staff to leave them alone.

MONEY TALKS in Vegas.

I would like to hear the tapes of the security guard’s call to the office and if they ARGUED with him to “leave the HIGH ROLLER ALONE” like they do with Loud Parties and other issues with them.

They have to do that. Out of respect for the victims.

Well they must soldier on, or in other words
##KEEP CALM, AND RIFFLE ON!

After all, it’s too soon to talk about gun control.

Wow, this stinks.

I can understand mixups about what happened when, especially for events that happened in the chaos during and after the shooting. But, this is a mixup about when a man shot 200 fucking rounds shot inside a big hotel, before the shooter began slaughtering people on the ground. How do you still have the timing of that event wrong days after the shooting? Why is the hotel throwing vague doubts about revised timeline of events inside the hotel?

Is some party covering its ass? Is some party getting thrown under a bus? Both? It isn’t clear, yet, but it looks bad for the hotel. The price of MGM Reserts International stock hasn’t reacted to the new reports, though. I think it should be, but I know better than to go against the market based only on something I read in a widely publicized news report.
