Discussion for article #234315

yup, okay, got it.
Slippery slope to travel when it’s covered in s***.
If you crawl on your hands and kness to koch’s office door, you might be worth using if you beg for it just right.

This just goes to show that conservatives really do believe you should treat the national economy like you would your personal finances.

That Rubio may have made financial restitution is not the point. The issue is that he illegally used a government credit card, and that is what he will have to answer to should he decide to run for president in 2016.

The house may not sell before the 2016 election, and may force Rubio to account for his personal financial troubles if he decides to run for President

After this report, I guarantee you that the house will get bought by one of Rubio’s backer. And it’s going to be long before the 2016 elections.

Again, all this from members of the party that preaches “personal and fiscal responsibility!”

There’s that sound fiscal policy conservatives always talk about…

Where is the house?

Remember who, what, where, when and why.

A clear indication of Rubio’s financial savy - an a further indication that he is neither capable nor fiscally competent enough to take the reins of the country!

Clearly this is a guy you want to put in charge of the nation’s economy.

Correction: His use of a government credit card for unauthorised non-government purposes is something he needs to answer for RIGHT NOW! I demand to see his e-mails regarding all of his personal financial transactions. This is all a part of a grand Republican conspiracy to shift personal business onto the goverment dime! Issue subpeonas! Start a congressional investigation. Sue him! Impeach him! Create a scandle to distract attention from Republican’s inability to govern in any effective fashion for the good of all of America.

Those Florida homes grow up in communities where right and wrong are based on convenience, not on the immutable truths revealed in the bibble. These are homes that look to Obama for guidance instead of to heaven. Is it any surprise that they grow up to be financially troubled?

Como se dice “schadenfreude” en espanol?

Rubio got into hot water in for using a Florida Republican Party charge card for personal expenses while he served in the Florida legislature.

It was not a “government credit card”. The Republican Party is not the government. They just think they are. This is a campaign finance issue, not a misuse of government funds issue.

My husband is a federal employee and he has a credit card for agency-related travel expenses. His plane ticket, hotel room, and rental car are charged to it, and nothing else. And yes, we have to pay the entire balance when we receive the statement, then wait to get reimbursed after his travel claim is audited, approved, sent up the various steps of the chain, and then a check is issued. This can sometimes mean a $3,000+ expense for us directly out of our checking account, that we may have to cover for a month or two, and I can assure you that he is not at the level of Marco Rubio. I sometimes travel with him, and we have never charged any of my expenses on the card. He doesn’t even charge his meals or wi-fi or gas or conference fees to the card, even though they will be covered when he submits a travel claim. And he sure as hell doesn’t charge room service, hotel bar drinks, movies, or Hawaiian shirts to the card because he knows that’s not what the card is for. It’s not a free pass to charge whatever you want and then pay it back at the end of the month. It may not end up costing the government anything, but only an idiot thinks that’s okay.
