Discussion: Hillary Clinton Speaks Out: 'I Want The Public To See My Email'

Discussion for article #233980

Finally! Now we’ll finally learn just how much she gave to that Nigerian prince.

Won’t it be ironic if her at-home email server was the only cabinet level account that was not hacked by Snowden?

Fun! I wish I knew more about email security to venture an opinion.

Regardless, HRC’s first response is encouraging, at least on the front of proving she retains quick and effectively political chops.

My SENSE is that the particular communication loop, or more broadly, system, cannot be more secure than its weakest relay, and that the very most that a private relay point can do is to protect itself from INCOMING messages. That is, I cannot see how it could possibly provide ‘security’ in the sense of protection or cover or privacy in addition to the dot gov system or any other comparable system, for outgoing messages, EXCEPT possibly in hiding the sender’s physical location - say, to provide some comfort against attack.

What say the experts out there?

and that ‘response’ only took 2 days and was released at midnight… (those 55k emails that are constantly cited is a meaningless stat, since i suspect most of those emails are several pages long). she provided no reason why this was done in the first place – particularly since she presumably knows everything she’s done, esp as sos, will be scrutinized by the republicans as she continues with her unending quest to be the first female president.

by all means, continue with that ‘transparency’.

Enough said.

I’ve never liked Hillary as a candidate for 2016. I am starting to change my mind a little. I’ve got a neighbor aged 62, who drives 45 minutes one way to a job at a fish packaging plant (Morey’s). He makes about nine dollars an hour. His health insurance plan for his wife and himself takes about $300.00 dollars a month out of his check. About two weeks ago, he asked how to get info on Obamacare. I told him, but then said he may qualify for Minnesota Care, or Medicaid. His wife works at the same plant through an temporary staffing agency. She only works about a week a month. Of course, he votes Republican. He is a praying man, but not overly devout. He said he would vote for Hillary in a heartbeat if a moderate like Jeb Bush is not the Republican candidate. If there was someone that could poll better on our side, so be it. Hillary seems to poll the best. Better her than a Republican.

I’m not an expert on computers, email, security or State Department S.O.P.

I am, however, an interested observer who is wondering why this came up NOW, instead of October 2016.
“Myth” Romney, had the “47%” debacle taken place in early 2011, would have slithered out of it quite nicely.

I don’t believe Hillary is stupid enough to have done this and not been prepared for the eventual discovery and subsequent inevitable demand for release of said emails.
That said…god the fucking drama…can’t stand it.

What a fraud of a woman.

Our news-free, prediction-impaired Village mistakenly imagines fake drama’s an eyeball-grabbing salvation. It was.

Come on, we’re talking the Clintons. Do you really think this is all there really is in that Halloween bag of goodies. Not even Obama can do drama like the Clintons. Remember, there’s always the Clinton Foundation in the background and a recycled assortment of oldies but goodies. Plus Hillary’s hard core girls will keep stirring the pot, railing against the overt sexism, blah blah blah.

I suspect the time had more to do with reporters finally getting the information that had been requested via FOIA than anything else. Clinton was fortunate in that timing.

This is the kind of behavior by Hillary and the Clintons that cause me to dislike them so much, and dislike people like them. Its not just that she was felony stupid to do it, it is that I am so above it, and oh I am so smart,oh I can explain away anything because your concerns are never valid because I am so fucking brilliant, did I mention I was valdict what the fuck ever non stop arrogant pricks.

You find them at whole foods by the dozen as they give you disapproving looks when you look at those faux healthy tater chips.

It’s relatively hard to systematically intercept e-mails with a MIM (man-in-the-middle) attack, without privileged access to intermediary software or hardware through which everything flows (as the NSA does). It’s extremely easy to compromise a server and get everything on it, unless it’s really, really expertly maintained. The kind of thing a precocious 14 year old can do, in many cases.

Pretty much the same story with my 68 year old mother. Basically a moderate Republican and married to a tea partier but would for sure vote for Hillary.

Anyone excited about the release of these emails should prepare themselves for some tremendous boredom.
