It’s also a distraction for his team, he really is that vindictive and petty. Yes he is signing EOs and doing what his handler’s want but he also thinks we should bow down and adore him. This is why it’s important to keep the pressure on your Republican members of Congress. We need to give them all acid reflux and no Tums in sight.
“his tenuous relationship with the truth.”
Tenuous relationship with the truth? That’s like calling the ocean damp.
Congressional Republicans are whistling past the graveyard, trying to get as many of their pet projects rammed through before the whole thing blows up in their faces.
Or our faces. Literally.
These Republican idiots need to get a quick handle on the fact that they are the only thing that can put a check on this grown up Anthony Fremont from “The Good Life” Twilight Zone episode. Pretty soon, we’re all gonna be wished into the cornfield!
Sadly, I have zero faith they will. Especially when the Dems can’t even get up the spine to put up symbolic votes against his nominations the week after five million women took to the streets across the country telling them This Is Not Okay.
The GOP doesn’t give a flying fig about Dumblefuck being a raging narcissistic tyrant, because he’s their dream candidate: A guy who, in the words of Grover Norquist…
"All we have to do is replace Obama. … We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don’t need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. … We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.
Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared."
This is what we who have a little experience on this planet were warning the idealists about throughout the campaign – that if the GOP got back into power they were going to go apeshit and fuck this country up with every horrible idea they’ve ever had, and fuck the complainers.
Now comes the Tribulation of America.
He’d be so much prettier if he smiled more, ya know…
Useful idiots, every single one of them. They (and we) are being played by a very, very dangerous man. When will the country wake up?
And the same RepubliKKKlans who wanted to impeach Obama give Trump pass after pass…
I don’t think it will. The RepubliKKKlan Bullshit Machine has lulled too many people to sleep.
I honestly believe that we are coming to the end of the United States as we know it. Republicans adding 10 trillion to the National Debt while overextending the military is going to trigger the same collapse that happened to the USSR.
We’re witnessing the end of the United States. DC will implode and this country will break into pieces like a slammed frozen Turkish Taffy bar.
And this is why today’s GOP is as unpatriotic a group as you’ll ever find in the history of American politics. They will harm this country and their constituents to curry favor with their donor bosses who will shower them with cash and jobs if they every leave elected office. Remember when members of the GOP felt it was their moral obligation to investigate Nixon and eventually have him removed from office? That would never happen now.
When the Trump bubble finally bursts we’ll be drowned in a sea of orange slime clotted with downy yellow hair.
I think it’s near-inevitable that being in office is going to take an absolutely savage toll on him. People with NPD experience any form of criticism or opposition as an agonizing injury. Becoming President is literally the last thing you’d want if that was your situation and you could think clearly about it. Nine out of ten times even your successes please 51 percent and the other 49 is calling you a traitor, a tyrant, a fool. Imagine how it’s going to go for the rest of week given that Trump actually is all those things. Then think how a month, a year, four years would work on him. It’s Wednesday morning and he can’t maintain a semblence of sanity. Shaking my head…
He’ll “cope” with it by taking frequent and lavish “working vacations” at Mar-a-Asshole, which the GOP will cover for like they covered for Brushy Bush’s vacations to Crawford…this after they’ve howled and moaned at that communist golf-loving ni-CLANG and his ‘inhuman’ wife with her welfare-leech mom taking trillion-dollar jaunts ‘on the backs of the hard-working taxpayer’.
Yeah, more like an incidental relationship with the truth. Occasionally, by sheer dumb luck, he says something that isn’t a falsehood.
“Tillis called Trump’s comments about crowd size and undocumented immigrants voting “irrelevant” in the grand scheme of things.”
Of course they’re relevant . If you can’t trust your president to speak the truth, what good is he?
Holding the office of president really does not seem to agree w/ him, does it?.
He was a physically unhealthy man before he ran…that is not going to help him sustain the pace that the office requires, nor to deal w/ the pressures. He will break at some point.
It will be telling to watch Jared and Ivanka and see the toll on them from the stress of controlling this a**hole, while they try to maintain control of the power. The Trump family did not know what they were getting into.
If nobody calls him on it, he wins.
I just googled “Democrats criticize Trump lie about voter fraud.”
As of right now, the only Democrat I found to have made a public comment of any note about it was Maxine Waters. Apparently, nothing from Schumer, Pelosi, Kaine, Brown, et al. I seem to recall Warren has made some comments recently, but if so it didn’t show up in the search results.
It’s pretty revealing that there’s more concerted public pushback on Trump’s horseshit from the mainstream media than from prominent Democrats so far. Maybe they’re twittering like mad and it doesn’t show up in searches…
They all think they can make deals with him, and are avoiding criticism to maximize their chances. This is especially true of Schumer, who looks to be on the way to going down in history books, far on the wrong side of the ledger.
This is especially true of Schumer,
Chuck Schumer was literally invisible during the entire fall campaign—he was completely fucking useless in terms of visibly helping Hillary go after his fellow New Yorker Trump—but he’s sure enjoying the spotlight now. He’s symptomatic of DC Dem “leadership.”
