Discussion for article #228519
The right wing Republicans in NC are going to keep fighting, even though the state AG has said the fight is over.
Once TX or FL flips the fight is almost over, and there will be no going back.
This means that NC will have the proud privilege of being the last state to enshrine gay discrimination in their state constitution. The upside is that the state’s bigots will experience the fastest turnaround ever from a majority vote for hate-based discrimination to being smacked down and reminded that their Taliban-like vision for society isn’t welcome here.

Gay marriage is a fait accompli and continuing the hate-filled retreat and inevitable defeat of the Republican Con and Bagger show is disgraceful for the injury, uncertainty and turmoil it creates in the gay couples’ lives who live in the GOP regressive-Rightie and TEAliban dominated states. All 50 NOW!
She looks like Fat Tony in drag.
What I enjoy most? The fact that the opponents of marriage equality have sped up the process. Utah, for example, couldn’t accept the verdict at the trial court level and appealed to the 10th Circuit, thus allowing for the Appeals Court ruling to apply to the entire Circuit. Same for Virginia. Same for Indiana. Etc., Etc.
The Colorado AG told county clerks that they must be prepared to issue same-sex marriage licenses as soon as the 10th Circuit Court lifted its stay, which happened yesterday afternoon. So at least as of this morning, it’s official.
Congratulations to gay couples and equality-loving citizens everywhere!
