This media invention: gleefully pushed at CNN and MSNBC shows how bullshit is now the news of choice. I don’t get journalists who write two stories: Biden in!! Biden out!! just so that they can get the “right” one on site in seconds. Manufacturing news is becoming SOP. The culprits are an assorted bunch of gasbags who trade tidbits of gossip from staff at the White House. These people “make” news; they have forgotten how to report it.

Bill “Nostradamus” Kristol predicted on Sunday - 3 days ago - that Biden would be the Democratic Presidential nominee with Elizabeth Warren running as his V-P.
Even other members of the “This Week” panel were rolling their eyes.

How many times does a “pundit” have to be proven categorically wrong before people stop asking for his/her opinion? Kristol is making a career out of getting the answers wrong…I really don’t understand it.

On the McLaughlin Group on PBS last Friday evening all five participants unanimously predicted (correctly, it turns out) that Biden would NOT run.

Well, as long as you look the other way about his votes for a partial birth abortion ban… and his vote for the Patriot Act… and voting to give President Bush war powers despite many warnings from his own constituents… Oh, and of course his vote for that pesky bankruptcy bill.

This isn’t an unusual practice in journalism, and one that is actually taught in J-Schools. A story that is clear cute (In or Out) doesn’t take too much to initially write. You get the “who, what, where, when” out in the first story and let the follow ups explore the whys and hows. but it’s important to get it our there fast; just a yes or no, with the promise of follow up.
Biden’s decision is clearly news, and for new organizations, getting news out there ASAP is important.

Bill Kristol is the biggest horse’s ass taken “seriously” by the main stream media, whatever that is. His predictions are even worse than George Will’s, whose predictions, in a scientific study were found to be less accurate than those of an orangutan with a ouija boat, At least Will is right 20% of the time.
