“You have enough information. We love you. But you will vote no. And you have enough information to vote no,” she said before tossing her pursed projectile. “You can kiss my ass if you vote yes. You can kiss my ass if you vote yes. You can kiss my ass.”
Ah, can’t say that I blame her considering she stands to lose significant rights if Kavanaugh is confirmed. And I guess Jones has to play the game in deep red Alabama, but it would be very disappointing if he doesn’t get to a no. In fact, he’ll lose significant Democratic support and lose the next election in a landslide, I would think, if he doesn’t.
He will probably lose his next election no matter what. He might as well do the right thing since he will be punished either way. It’s not as if he’s Manchin who can potentially triangulate his way to reelection. This is Alabama we’re talking about and he won on a wonderfully fluke circumstance.
More importantly the United States will be saddled with a Supreme Court justice that essentially thinks the office of the president is above the law.
I’m with her.™
“I know she’s passionate about [Kavanaugh]and I appreciate it,” he continued. “There’s just as many people passionate on the other side, so that doesn’t make it real easy.”
FUCK YOU Doug Jones!
Given that’s your take on Jones, pray tell what you would have in mind for Roy Moore if he had won?
I dunno, but I’m allways open to kiss most ladies’ behind, what does it have to do with voting? I’ll do it anyway.
If you’re referring to my comment, had Roy Moore won we wouldn’t be having this conversation. If you’re trying to say Doug Jones needs to “moderate” his message with bullshit like ““There’s just as many people passionate on the other side…” (eerily similar to Donald’s there’s good people on both sides, ain’t it?) I’d say that he really needs to look at who voted for him and do his damnedest to keep their votes. He won’t do that by trying to appeal to Conservatives, they proved that they will vote for anyone, even a child molester, over a Democrat. If the dude is smart he’ll work on turning out Democrats, not turning them off.
Was Jones unopposed in the primary and can he still get a democratic challenger.
Don’t you first determine how much ass there is to kiss? Or do you just jump in?
Nominated by a man whose Administration is under active criminal investigation. Everything about this stinks.
Total surface is a concern, but I worry most about pointy tails and smell of sulphur, that is said to be common among the women-like creatures that occupy the White House.
His challenger was Bobby Kennedy and Kennedy caught a beating in the primary.
Jones doesn’t have to play anything. He can pull a page out of the Republican playbook and say his victory was a mandate, then vote the way his voters want him to vote. That last part is usually what Republicans get wrong.
Shouldn’t she have thrown a stuffed ass?
It’s doubtful that Jones or any other Democrat will provide the deciding vote. Unless a smoking gun appears, 50 Republicans will vote for Kavanaugh, which is enough because Pence can make it 51 (or else McCain will fly in to solidify his legacy as a “principled” conservative).
Manchin, Donnelly, Heikamp and Jones will vote for Kavanaugh — in the case of the first three because their seats would go Republican if they didn’t, and in the case of the fourth because he’d seal his 2020 fate. Tester and even McCaskill may join them. It’s a horrible vote — not because Kavanaugh is technically unqualified but because of the Garland debacle.
Still, I have a hard time blaming Democrats from deep red states. The only solution to this terrible situation is to re-elect all the Democrats running this year and to win Arizona and New Mexico. That’s the only way that Schumer can control the agenda and keep the Orange Monster from ruining our judiciary even more.
Jones is already a lame duck, no matter what. He should just vote party line from here on out and stop trying to win over conservatives who aren’t going to vote for him in 2020 anyway.
“There’s just as many people passionate on the other side, so that doesn’t make it real easy.”
Yeah, Doug, those people on the other side are never going to vote for you. Never. Betraying the people who have voted for you will get you nothing. Not. One. Vote. Best listen to the lady.
