@beattycat

If that idea really took flight, it would give new meaning to the word: HO train.

I’ve been using the orange asshole…it’s proven to be very cathartic. You’re welcome to it, inversion.

We have six grandsons, and every time I see that picture, the lump in my throat gets larger and I just lose my breath.

He wipes his eye and his face and looks at his hand, sees the blood, and wipes it on the chair.

I’m glad his family survived and hope they can get the hell out of there and go to a place where they will be welcomed and helped to heal.

Right, republican governors?

I have to say I have mixed emotions on this. On one hand I understand how a photo like this can humanize a situation on the other I’m kinda appalled at how shocked some people are acting about this. I mean this conflict has been going on for around half a decade what did these people think was happening over there? All those refugees are refugees for a reason and it’s because their homes have been turned into the center point for a conflict with a good half dozen different sides trying to kill each other and a number of those sides don’t give a good damn about civilian casualties. It is a mess and it is a mess our next president is going to have to play a role in figuring out, which should hopefully highlight the dangers of electing a dimwitted impulsive blowhard to that office. Especially since the instability that led into this mess is largely the result of the last time we “elected” a dimwitted blowhard to that office and he was a model of restraint compared to the orange guy currently running for the job.

Remember when in lieu of giving up a mass shooter’s name, news outlets would for a bit say “The heavily armed shooter just casually…”

Now that ‘head in the sand’ mentality solved nothing, because it was as if we ignored these things or didn’t say the person’s name (Beetlejuice), then nothing bad would occur anymore.

I really don’t want to put Trump on that ‘medal platform’ with Stalin and Hitler, because in an offhand way, his way of campaigning is far different than the Austrian house painter’s. But he needs to be recognized via using his name, when these related news items keep coming up.

Actual war is far worse. This kid still has all his pieces attached.

Oh well, drone away!

Start targeting the actual people in charge on the other side and war would be quite different.

LOL. I was swallowing some of my smoothie as I read your comment. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: (I’m okay, though!)

I expect to Trumpets that this kid is just a “pre-terrorist”.

Indeed! And after killing any and all in this child’s family, Trump himself would mouth something about, “It’s terrible. Sad. So terrible…but it happens. ___ Where’s Ivanka? Have someone send me up a Big Mac…”
Any concern he has for anyone else but himself stops at his immediate family’s front door.

This is the everyday reality of war, this is what it looks like in the aftermath, whether the bombers are Syrian or American or anyone else.

Kudos to all those who put together this report, and to Ms. Bouldan for her obviously heartfelt presentation.

I’m torn. If Assad would fucking leave we could help but if we force the issue we could end up owning the problem and thereafter be responsible for everything that goes wrong.

"Remember, Trump wants to kill the families of suspected terrorists. "

Hey davey, you might want to also remember, Bush & Obama have also been authorizing this kind of madness for more than a decade. Amazing how when it gets up close and personal most posters here seem to find their moral compass and express their selective outrage … and then move on to the latest Clinton/Trump polling numbers.

Sorry, did I make the “community” uncomfortable?

The next anti-war post at TPM will be the first.

Is it that outdated?

Wait, war is bad? Who knew.

Thank god we have you here to let us know.

Assad needs to go. If Putin won’t take him in, maybe some South American drug cartel will…for a price? I can’t see how the Russians can continue to back this crud without the negative imagery rubbing off on them. Everyone is sick of the turmoil in that region of the world. Humanity at some point takes hold again and demands that wars and dictators come to an end.
