Meanwhile, a GOP Congressman in Tennessee who voted for Trumpcare found himself in a road rage incident with an angry constituent! Just as I predicted violence is going to happen when you put people’s backs against the wall…
I believe this is correct, though there is much more than just these two subjects fueling voter anger/activism right now. These are the two that people speak about the most right now, but I suspect that there is going to be a lot more added to this list by the time Nov 2018 rolls around.
Republicans loved “peasants with pitchforks” when the peasants in question were going after the “liberal elite.”
A special big thanks to Ryan for protecting us from our selves.
"I’m not doing town halls… so constituents don’t go into a harassing environment.”
All this does is prove what I always knew, GOP voters are only motivated by self interest, they never put country before party.
Why they are the folks that Rush, Alex Jones, Fox News and the Right Wing Republican 24/7 Bullshit Machine always allege are under the control of George Soros!
And our national pride rejects being made a laughing stock in the world by this fascist-leaning, egotist buffoon.
It’s really eating away at the GOP’s traditional base even though they are getting much of what their greedy conservative hearts have always desired. It’s a slow drip that could end up coming down on them like a flood at any minute. Talk about unease.
They thought that Pence and Preibus could control this rich slob of a Russian traitor They can’t and are learning that his son-in-law and daughter are as dangerous as he is.
The good news is: in these incidents the self interest and countries interest are the same
Oh Jeebus, @antisachetdethe, I see everybody’s favorite sock puppet is back already. If only TPM could simply ban his address permanently. Oy vey!
The biggest lie in the health care debate is the one where Republicans tell you their changes to medicaid simply gives flexibility to the states. If that is the case why do they cut funding 880 billion over 10 years? Make no mistake it is a giant cut intended to deliver a giant tax break to rich people.
It seeks attention, so maybe best to ignore it.
I never respond feed it because I can count on @antisachetdethe and @mattinpa to flog the guy it mercilessly, then get his its current incarnation banned. Still … oy vey!
Go away, troll.
I think this is at the heart of what is going on with Republicans in the Senate and House. They realize that they have a limited window of opportunity to push through their legislative agenda – which is, essentially, to raid Medicaid and the funds that support the ACA and use the billions and billions thereby freed up to spend on tax cuts for rich people. The chance to pass that legislation and get a POTUS to sign it may not come again soon. So they must do everything possible to hang on long enough to accomplish their mission. GWB tried the same thing with Social Security after he received his “mandate” in 2004. It was a miserable failure, so they are trying again with Medicaid, which is easier to raid because it affects mainly poor people. We’ve got to fight especially hard since the people affected by Medicaid are not nearly as powerful as the people affected by OASDI.
As long as “nuclear fallout” isn’t on the list.
Unfortunately it’s extremely rare for someone to have a static IP nowadays.
I smell troll…
I think you might be missing some context here. I can’t speak for other posters, but I believe they’re referring to the “liberal elite” as the boogey-man talking point used by the right, and not actual people that exist somewhere in reality. During the ACA passing, we saw large protests against it that were driven primarily by complete bullshit talking points concocted by the right - “liberal elites” being one of them.
Edit: And yeah, I say this in full realization that you’re likely just trolling.
