Discussion: Hayden: Trump ‘Forgot That He Was President,’ Could See Wiretapping Proof

It’s the Trumpist interpretation of the unitary executive. DT has plenary power over the entire executive branch. He owns the DoJ, FBI, DHS, et al.

I wish he’d just ’ forget ’ to wake up in the morning …

Don’t we need a new ’ National Holiday ’ ?? –

I only wish I could forget the hideous orange stain on the White House.

Well, that does not bode well on the competency check.

Another thought as well. The word is Obama is about to be back in the public again. Trump may be trying to soil Obama’s image with the public both for his ego and as a counter to Trump.

I want him wide awake (although losing the ability to speak might be a nice touch) when it all comes tumbling down and he is forced out of the White House. We don’t want him to become a martyr to the Trumpanzees. He and his supporters need to be publicly humiliated.

Proof that we still live in bizarro world… ONLY 46%???

Poll: 46 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s job performance

And at this point, what exactly do you think it would take? So good luck with that one, lol.

Whereas the rest of us can’t forget this, no matter how hard we try.

Pretty obvious that Trump made the accusation for one reason – to change the headlines from Sessions and Russia. He does not care if Obama had him wired.

Trump wouldn’t accept a “we don’t have proof, because it never happened” response, though. You cannot un-convince a conspiracy nut. Trump is not of sound mind - in the same way the guy who lives in the alley who talks to himself all day isn’t. Once the rest of the country finally figures this out, it’ll all make perfect sense and we can all just ditch the extra energy that’s being poured into assuming this is something more than Trump being a giant fucking lunatic man-baby.

Seeing him impeached after they lose their healthcare and welfare would be a nice start.

Just to inject a bit of levity into all of this insanity for a moment, if you want a good laugh, go over to The Intercept to see how “progressive” “national security expert” “journalist” Glenn Greenwald is covering this story.

In a truly shocking development, Greenwald argues that this whole mess is really about . . . wait for it . . . the Democrats being hypocrites on Russian relations. I kid you not – that’s his page-one lede. It’s not Russian interference in elections. It’s not Russia hacking U.S. institutions. It’s not Russia looking to get off scot-free despite its invasion and annexation of Crimea. It’s not all of the Trump camp’s lies about their contacts with Russian officials. It’s not all the shady dealings between Trump’s advisors and Russia. It’s not Trump’s insanity and his crazy tweets about wiretapping. Nope – to GG, the big story here is why Democrats are questioning Trump’s stance toward Russia.

Oh, but it gets better! Guess who GG blames for Putin’s aggresssive actions and authoritarianism? Go ahead – guess. I’ll give you a hint: His last name begins with “Obama.” That’s right – Greenwald says Obama is to blame for Putin because Obama provoked him. Yes, poor little Putin and Russia are victims of Obama’s imperialism. I kid you not.

Is there anyone left on the planet who doesn’t grasp how obvious it is that Greenwald is a total, complete fraud, and is really nothing put a Putin puppet and a typical Republican apologist stooge?

Yea… certain particulars would be nice touches …

But , at this point, I’m ready to drop all those to just have him GONE …

Ok…but only if he (and others) wanted to show that Democrats are just as bad Republicans…wait a sec

The next time some clowns, on the right or the left, tell me we have to get rid of the “Establishment” in DC politics, I’m going to send them right to the moon.

Dumbasses, all.

Dementia

“Forget he was president”? Really?

It’s unlikley that Trump is that far into dementia. Not that Hayden intended to mean that Trump literally forgot that he was president. Hayden was making some sort of rhetorical point that I’m afraid is lost on me.

What is clear to me is that Trump is delusional or confused, in the medical sense. He is clearly medically or psychiatrically unfit for the office he holds.

And, unlike all the prior 4AM rage tweets, this time the delusional content has real world consequences. Believing that millions attended his inauguration was harmlessly delusional or confused. Believing that the last president and at least the FBI conspired to try to steal the last election, by clealry criminal acts, is no less delusional and confused, but leads inexorably to real world consequences. Trump either has to admit he was confused or delusional in his claims about this conspiracy – in which case he has to resign – or he has to act as if there really was a conspiracy. Most of the participants in this huge crime he imagines are still in power. Comey is 100% spot on in acknowledging that he either knocks down this delusion, or he faces arrest. Well, Trump’s not resigning, so it’s Door #2, arresting Obama and Comey and who knows who else who was in on this conspiracy.

Well, it’s either those arrests start, or Trump is escorted out of the WH by psych techs. It’s now time to start speaking the simple truth that Trump is mentally unfit, and has become a danger to self and other. No more rhetorical dodges.

Or that every intelligence service in the Western World has monitored the Russian mob for decades.

Trump thinks he’s playing multi-dimensional chess, but he’s really just losing a game of checkers against himself.

At best, this is another case (in a long line of them) of people who simply do not know how the U.S. government works. Period. (Remember when they “found out” that the West Wing staff didn’t stick around with a new administration?)

At worst, it’s a calculated attempt by Bannon & company’s continuing crusade to dismantle the government by undermining key institutions like the intelligence community.

That said, Trump’s Razor (as Josh puts it) probably lines up more with:

Trump is playing the media, again… with all the beltway types now in a frenzy of “investigating” any and all leads to disprove something that’s already undeniably false rather than focusing on the real scandal - his entanglements with the Russians.
