The moral of the story is beware of stories that confirm your suspicions.
I recall an incident with George W. Bush choking on a pretzel. Many speculated that there was some underlying medical issue or that the president was a relapsed alcoholic. Now imagine that someone invented a story that confirmed those suspicions. I cannot be sure that we on the left wouldn’t have run with it.

It’s wrong of Reid to mention journalism at all. Powerline is just another conservative blog peddling conspiracy theories. It’s not like this was picked up by a serious outlet.

Ever notice that GOP mouthpieces are younger and younger? In the MSM there is a lie odometer and once you get to a certain lie count you are pulled from circulation. In the conservative cone-of-silence this is not a problem, lies are just the frosting on the cake. For the MSM and liberal media lying IS a problem and will haunt you.
Once more showing that right wingers are gullible fools who latch onto any rumor that makes the other side look foolish. Look in the mirror, wingers, for the real fools.

Excellent. Think I will peddle a “story” to Hannity claiming that the real reason Hillary deleted her emails was that she wanted to cover up her affair with me, and that there were many many emails between inlabsitrust and Hillary… Also, she told me during pillow talk she was the one who ordered the military to stand down during Benghazi.
