Deja moo. As in, I’ve heard this bullshit before.

so much win here.

The Alternate Reality Factory has been operating full blast at least since the dawn of the Reagan Era. Reagan himself was a prisoner of the factory (he was famous for citing movie plots as if they actually happened), and he surely set the style for the party.

But even Reagan did not create the factory. Republicans have always had an Alternate Reality Factory, witness McCarthy’s imaginary list of Soviet agents, and the John Birch Society in the 1950s (and the right was absolutely bonkers with wild notions about FDR in the 1930s). The difference is that in earlier eras Republican opinion leaders - William F Buckley, and even Barry Goldwater - opposed the fantasy addicts. Reagan made buying into the fantasies a requirement for being a Real Republican.

If the writer is citing the Yiddish/Hebrew word then “H” is a perfectly acceptable transliteration of the initial letter “het” (or “chet” or “khet”), so Chutzpah, Hutzpah or Khutzpah are all equally valid.

The sound of the initial consonant, even in common English usage, is not any of the values used in English for the “ch” sound but is instead the foreign rough-breathing sound.

Not sure who can claim credit? Bush for the stimulus, Obama for the stimulus and the bailout, the fed rate cutting? Not sure either party in Congress can claim the mantle because it seems there has been zero policymaking since Obama took office (except maybe ACA and AIA) two laws that would have an impact on the economy. And this is just a small part of larger events which shrink or grow the economy. All this talk of who is responsible, be it Ds or Rs is just silly.

Auto bail-out is not silly, neither is the stimulus. Holding down deficits, ACA and Dodd-Frank are just a few of the administration’s cohesive list of accomplishments.

Obama has been the hardest working, most intelligent, sensible president my lifetime. Almost everything he has tried has worked. The economy is back on track, and starting to boom. Just in time for the GOP to take control and trash it again. I get angry every time I think about it.

And don’t forget the severe cold … it is WAAAAY colder here in Madison than it was on election day. I think the GOP should take responsibility for that!

Yes, it’s an old and very predictable routine. It’s never their fault.

You can’t really read facts, can you? VA reform (fought by repubs every step of the way). Jobs programs (name one the repubs supported or proposed). Renewable energy (a big deal is made about Solyndra, but the dollars and cents of the program were a complete success).

I could go on and on. Get informed, instead of making idiotic statements.

So I take it that this is no longer the Obama economy?

McConnell’s recent statement on the economy and his laughable attempt at claiming credit for it has got to be one of the most nakedly shameful things I’ve heard in a while. What an absolute asshole. And they’re not going to stop. This, I guarantee you, will be the new GOP line. Once Fox News and Limbaugh are done with it, it’s going to be irrefutable truth within certain circles and it’s going to be absolutely infuriating.

The problem is the rubes just hear what they want to hear anyway. Damn the facts.

I take it you haven’t had as many courses in economics or worked in economic policy as long as I have. But a president’s agenda alone doesn’t drive the economy, nor does whatever happens on the hill, nor is the time horizon for change as narrow as a term or 3 months after an election. Nor can you really get a full assessment until years down the road, and then it is a debate regarding what specific policy did what. You’re leaving out other innovation factors, you’re leaving out consumer spending, you’re leaving out whatever the fed is doing (which probably does more to move the economy than the pres and congress combined). You’re leaving out stuff I’m leaving out. I can read facts but your word salad is a bunch anecdotal information that isn’t fit for making an assessment about who or what is responsible for the uptick in the economy. Real time economic successes are for making political points not factual ones. Maybe it is you that needs informing. Crack a book. Learn some stuff. It’s good for staving off dementia.

Did I say these actions were silly or perhaps I said that it was claiming victory this early in the game with a handful of accomplishments is silly?
