Probably because they weren’t being over-reactive dicks like Casebolt was and putting themselves in a bad position.
Not to speak for @bejugo, but s/he agrees that Casebolt was in the wrong, but seems to be pushing back (much like I did in a different thread) against the notion that because it was teens at a pool party that they could not possibly pose a threat. At least that’s what I read.
The latest salvo of defending-the-indefensible, casebolt and the duggars, have been so over the top and recklessly contrarian that I wonder if fat pig roger ailes is finally going completely senile. At least with cliven bundy, the wingers backed off at the first sign of outright racism. But with casebolt here, you’re right, his own police chief denounced him. What can explain the buttheads at fox going to bat for shitty cops like casebolt except for pure venomous spite?

Seems to me that the only time a cop should pull out their gun is if their life is in danger. Clearly that was not the case here. A gun should not be used as megaphone to amplify what you are saying to someone.
[/quote] You don’t know what occured before this video. The cop was trying to have the girl sit down but she obviously was resisting voicing her rights. As a black parent was quoted ,he always told his kids to obay a man with a gun because you may be right but end up dead right. The cop was down on his knee to cuff the resisting girl when the 2 teens came rushing over to her defence i didn’t see any other cops in that video so i assume the cop thought he was going to be attacked so he drew his gun.You can voice your inflated PC outrage but at least wait until you check the facts.
Feeling threatened is subjective. The officer that shot Tamir Rice felt threatened. The officer that shot John Crawford felt threatened. I can understand feeling threatened if you pull over a car load of meth heads late at night on a lonely road but the only thing threatening about the situation in McKinney that I saw was officer Casebolt.
Well that’s because this week’s 14 year old is not a saint, while last week’s was. Everyone knows that saints are not responsible for their own misbehavior, while non-saints are completely responsible for the misbehavior of all those around them. Jeez, I thought all that was obvious.
At this point with Hannity’s very public contradicting stances on Clive Bundy, and these unarmed kids and what he thinks of both… he’s not even hiding his racism even a little anymore is he.
It was pointed out by a retired police officer in an article here yesterday that the two teens were already retreating when Casebolt pulled his weapon.
Again, no one’s arguing (at least that I’ve read) that Casebolt was justified in pulling his weapon, or pretty much anything else he did that day. Just saying that the fact that Casebolt’s a dick and overreacted to the situation doesn’t mean that it’s impossible for the teens to have posed a potential threat.
You also don’t know what occurred earlier in the video, but it’s nice that you’re willing to cut the white police officer a break not matter how indefensible his actions were.
Sean, provoking a cop, even calling him names IS NOT A REASON TO DRAW THE WEAPON! Therefore for continued dickish commentary by you, Sean, I am awarding you the “double facepalm fail” for epic brainless willful stupidity.
Enjoy:
By the local Chief of Police’s count there were 11 other cops there all of whom were calm and respectful of the kids. Even the Chief has said this one cop was out of line completely and he added the man’s actions were indefensible. Now, that’s not me saying that, it was the cops own boss saying it.
After the Texas police officer who slammed a 15-year-old girl to the ground resigned on Tuesday, the McKinney, Texas, police chief called the officer's actions "indefensible."
Hannity – defending the indefensible since, well, forever.
Does not in any way justify drawing a weapon on them. That you think it does indicates your judgement and proper sense of appropriate response when and when to not draw a weapon is grossly out of whack.
Yeah, kids can be stupid. Excitable. Skittish. As NCSteve astutely pointed out yesterday the same attribute that caused Casebolt to focus his attention on that 15 year old girl could also explain those teen aged boy’s actions.
