Discussion: Hannity Defends Palin's Waterboarding Comments: It's How 'America Rolls' (AUDIO)

Let’s assume there’s no debate over whether we should or shouldn’t be waterboarding and say we should - the whole premise of this scenario is the problem. It’s presuming not only does the alleged terrorist know the answer to the question, but that there’s a question that there is an actual answer to. And if you already pretty much know the answer why are you asking the question? Real-life terrorist interrogations don’t work out like Jack Bauer on 24 where there’s a ticking time bomb.

The Constitution has an Eighth Amendment for a reason. Hannity, Palin and their cohorts should read it instead skipping everything except the second half of the Second Amendment.

SNIFFIT!!!

Where ya been?
How ya been???

Palin’s comment and Hannity’s reaffirmation of the sentiment is grossly offensive and disrespectful of Christians everywhere. They who always complain about the so-called “war on religion” have committed a blasphemy in desecrating the sacrament of baptism. I’m a liberal Lutheran and very offended by their appropriation of “baptism” and especially in the utterly grotesque and despicable practice of waterboarding.

I don’t understand why more Christians are not howling about this outrage. I give credit to the conservative Rod Dreher for calling her out on it, but a good number of comments on his conservative blog are miffed at him for doing so.

This crap coming from the very same man that claimed that waterboarding wasn’t torture and that he would gladly undergo the same just to prove his point. Hey Sean … We’re still waiting … and can I please pour the water down your gullet???

Chammy, Way off topic, but you’re in Waxman’s district in the LA area, right? I have something you might like read about the election this year you might find interesting. I’ll check this thread later and see what you have to say. See ya. LGB

Let’s see. Hannity Insanity goes 3 for 3 in as many weeks. Thanks, Sean, Sarah and Let’s not forget Mr. Santorum as the gifts that keep on giving.

“That’s the way we roll.”???

Really Sean? When are you going to show up and be waterboarded you worthless chicken-hawk.

Those who are formally trained in interrogation techniques consistently agree that the so-called “enhanced” methods that were commonly employed by the CIA during the Bush/Cheney years were totally inappropriate and tactically inane.

These techniques are commonly used by foreign extremist groups and dictatorial regimes that are trying to get prisoners to confess to crimes that the interrogators know were not committed, i.e., they are not interested in obtaining information, their goal is the confession itself.

In other words, water-boarding is an excellent interrogation technique if your goal is:

a) a false confession

b) retribution

But if your primary objective to obtain useful intelligence, it’s going to be counterproductive.

If all the polls are right, this is the mentality that will be making our decisions for us. Get ready for detention centers (they’ll probably call it “Christian rehab”).

What a good catholic christian.

All this from the fool who tries to cloak himself in religion and defend the indefensible. It’s all for ratings and to line his own pocket. HIs motivation is greed. Shame on Hannity!

The Country is still waiting for this Cretin to allow himself to be waterboarded for the “Wounded Warriors”…look up coward and you’ll find his mugshot directly adjacent to the definition…

An empty drum makes the greatest noise.

Of course if you thought someone was holding your children and not telling you where they were, you’d want to torture him. That’s precisely why we have laws, so that people can’t act purely out of emotion.

If Palin were in a position of power Gag she would try her best to turn the USA in to the Christian taliban.
I assume there are quite a few others beside Hannity who would welcome
the new theocracy of hate and fear and torture.
These are not Americans with American/Human values.
Guess they quit in the middle of evolution.

Maybe that’s the way they rolled in the military unit that Hannity didn’t serve in.

It was also how the Nazis rolled, and the Soviets, and the Japanese militarists, and the North Vietnamese, and the Khmer Rouge, and the East Germans, and the dirty war torturers in South America, and the medieval torturers, and all the barbarous regimes in history that abandoned their humanity when dealing with a potential enemy. It was once a point of pride for this society that we didn’t roll that way. But then the coward Cheney took us down that road, and when decent people objected, the movement conservatives decided that if liberals don’t like torture, then torture must be a good thing. And the thing is, these people call themselves “Christians.”
