First standing up at the Heritage forum, then going on Hannity. This is one brave woman. I certainly hope she forms some coalition that speaks out against bigotry of many people against the Muslim religion. Start taking the fight directly to the right.

I couldn’t agree more. I honestly don’t know what good it can ever do to confront people on Fox, because portraying Muslims as moderate doesn’t fit their business model. But it might be helpful for the vast majority of moderate Muslims in the world to have a public American face or two or twelve. If some of our less sophisticated citizens could meet the endodontist who has an office a few blocks from my house, they might think of him and not just AK-waving jihadists when they hear the word “Muslim.” A coalition like you suggest could provide voices for the majority that the media could turn to when Islam is the subject.

I cannot bring myself to watch Hannity because no matter what the subject of his show he comes off as … ahem … less than intelligent. Hannity’s logic reminds me of the reasoning prowess of the History channel program “Ancient Aliens”. And AA has the reasoning power of a brick (my apologies to bricks).

In Konservative-speak, the dogwhistles he specializes in, as soon as he pounded on his victim long enough to get her to say she “spoke out” against Islam, his job was done. He had demeaned and destroyed her courageous stance against people like him, and he could then go to a FOX commercial.

So let me get this right: Hannity says that HE spoke out against the Church scandal and wonders why no Muslims are speaking out against jihad, and when a Muslim is about to speak about against jihad, he cuts her off.

I think Media Matters should offer ANYONE invited on FOX a crash course in Konservative-speak and the attacks and depravity they are going to face at the hands of FOX hosts. That goes for members of Congress, too.
This poor girl was hopelessly outmatched by the cynical posturing, the aggressive, bullying type of questioning, and the outrageous premises, distortions, and outright lies that they throw out in a pile while they ask you your “question”.
In debate, there are many effective ways to counter these stupid tactics, but if you are allowed to go on unprepared, you will lose and you will damage your cause.
