McDaniel, however, had to be muzzled by staff.

Seeing as how the Hawaii Board of elections has recognized the problem and is holding a special election in those precincts, Hanabusa’s claims seem to be moot.

I’ll take that as a good sign.

Jumping on this, at this point, has already put me off on her. Everyone is aware the storm has created issues, which will certainly be looked at. This comes across as an accusation of your opponent doing questionable things without anyone yet knowing what anyone did.

This has a stink about it.

Heeeeeeeeeere we go…

So she did the math and has concluded that she can’t win without challenging the legitimacy of the voting process.

Her comments should help assure a Schatz victory which will make Hanabusa an unemployed Blue Dog Democrat. As a Hawaii voter, I couldn’t be happier!

Wow. I guess all those folks accusing her of really being a Republican were right.

She sounds like a republican. If you are not winning outright yell voter fraud or irregularities. She should at least wait until the election is over with first.

Java Man…clever…and first!

Was hoping for a euthanizing vs. muzzling.

Remember when Republicans said that Mitt lost because of a hurricane. Yeah it’s like that.

The Warren wing doesn’t need Ms. Hannabusa, even though she was chosen by a war vet of mixed descent.

The Governor, reviled because he’s seemed to be out of touch with natives and those of Asian descent, AND for appointing her opponent, has lost reliable constituencies needed for coalition.

He is out, and she will be as well should she decide to stop the pander (favors to cut Social Security?) and let the process work.

I believe what she’s complaining about is that two other precincts in the district were open, even though they suffered equally bad or worse damage from the storm. Apparently that decision was made because the polling places themselves were accessible, despite many people not being able to leave their homes due to fallen (or falling) trees.

That said, while it’s not fair, it’s entirely legal; and furthermore she lost those precincts by quite a bit, so it’s not like she would gain a lot of votes if there was bigger turnout there.

Sounds like a corporate Democrat=Republican scare tactics.

The worst “irregularity” was not getting the appointment to the Senate that Godfather Inouye had promised her. Her primary challenge is almost entirely about personal ambition and entitlement, with only the slightest policy differences. She leans more Blue Dog, but only by comparison with Schatz, who is more progressive. On major issues there is no difference.

The second “irregularity” was that Schatz raised more money and got more endorsements than she did. After all, he was Obama’s campaign chair, while Hanabusa chaired Hillary’s primary effort in '08.

The final "irregularity is that more Democratic primary voters picked her opponent for the seat she felt was rightfully hers.

Her arrogance and ambition led her to surrender a safe House seat for this campaign, leaving an open race for a very capable Republican candidate to potentially grab in November.
