Discussion: Hagel: White House Tried To 'Destroy Me' After Resignation

Discussion for article #243934

Chuck Hagel has always seemed to me like someone that should be under a doctor’s care.

He’s just being pissy because he’s not back on the Board of Directors at Chevron Corp. Yet.

And the fact that you were a really shitty SecDef had nothing to do with it right? asshat.

“We kept kind of deferring the tough decisions.” The inference is that the 'tough decisions" are the ones that involve going to war. If that’s so, keep deferring.

Obama should never have allowed any Republicans i his administration.

"They already had my resignation, so what was the point of just continuing to try to destroy me?” Hagel told Foreign Policy.

Maybe because they knew even back then what a backstabbing resentful jerk you would turn out to be, especially when it was you that screwed the pooch. They must’ve known this was coming from you eventually…and they were right to protect themselves from your phony self-righteous indignation, while blaming everyone else for your own failures.

Hagel was a moderate Republican when he was asked to come on board, but was in over his head, and mostly ineffective in his job. Now he’s just an ungrateful POS that doesn’t want to be associated with a Democratic administration…much like Ray LaHood’s most recent outburst against this administration. Too late. Crossing the aisle is not only sacrilegious as a Republican, its a future job killer in your party. Going Galt can be so disorienting for a disaffected GOPer. But not doing so as a Republican, is strictly verboten. They expect purity…and apparently you’ve already been compromised and tainted.

In case he forgets…Republicans at the time he resigned had little respect for him and hated him as much if not more than those in Democratic political circles.

Hagel: I like to now work in Cruz/Trump administration. Seems like a cake walk after my confirmation hearing. I love the typical republican dictatorial style of governing.

Or Rahm Emanuel or Larry Summers either. And they weren’t Republicans.

Did he forget his old buddy, John McCain, tried to destroy him during the confirmation process? Frankly, he didn’t do well during his hearings and was lucky Obama stayed the course with him.

I think we can anticipate a “tell all” book from Hagel to follow. Coming soon to a bookstore discount bin near you.

Its basically his only road left to redemption in the GOP with some obvious sucre attached to the deal.

He all but uses the “U-word” when referring to Rice.

BTW - If Seymour Hersh is to be believed that sarin gas attack at Ghouta was a false flag orchestrated by Turkish intelligence in order to draw the US into the Syrian civil war.

For all those who criticize the President for not getting enough done - here is Exhibit A. President Obama appointed several Republicans to his cabinet in a good-faith effort to work with his opposition for the sake of the country. What did it get him? THIS

President Trump would have you slowly poisoned to death, Hagel, after having the rest of your family killed in a road accident.

That was my thought exactly. Get the name out front, put the grievance out, then book, soon to be found in the remaindered pile.
