I have had people reply to that with “that means well trained”… I explain that regulated and trained are different words. As an example, I say I never heard of obeying “Park Training”, just “Park Regulations”. They then accuse me of twisting what they said. It’s hysterical.
Sorry you read that into what I said – Wasn’t my intent –
“BUT DAT THERE BAKGROWND CHEK ENFRIGES ON MY SECOND AMANDEMENT RITE TO AWRM MYSELF!!!”
My fav part about the NRA and their supporters is how they allow no discussion of reasonable preventative measures.
Is it just me or does that couple in the photo look an awful lot like Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly? Quick, someone tell me it isn’t so before I bounce off the walls. Or does she want to shoot back next time?
It is and she has a concealed carry. Always has is my understanding. They aren’t anti-gun, just gun control.
Thank you, that is more or less my position too. Still don’t see why they need to go to gun shows, though.
No worries, but remember this was a local show in Tucson, a Democratic area. Had Phoenix come to their senses, different story and your note has merit. As I said NY is a blue state, but there are plenty of districts in NY who hate background checks.
Sure, I remember – The snark was not directed at the small sanctuaries of sanity – But at the NRA –
Thank Dog for our little oasis of blue within the red desert of Arizona!
Pretty sure that’s them, too.
It won’t matter if 70pct of the sellers don’t have access to the federal system. For the most part, sellers at this gun show are not licensed dealers. It’s called the gun show loophole.
That is her and him, yes, no doubt. It’s an undated AP photo. They are both pro “smart” gun rights.
Lori McMann, of Roadrunner Gun Shows, told KVOA that she estimates about 70 percent of the show’s sellers don’t have access to the federal system that conducts instant background checks.
I’m sure the federal system doing background checks would give them access if they asked. I’m also sure that if Roadrunner Gun Shows required all its sellers to do so in order to participate, this wouldn’t be a problem.
Can the city require that all gun sales within its jurisdiction be recorded to insure that the appropriate sales tax has been collected?
Yeah, it’s all about local control. Until it’s not.
Oh, and BTW, my dad worked for defense contractors when I was a kid, so we ended up moving around a lot. Of all the places we lived Tucson was tied for first place in my opinion.
