Discussion: Gun Control Vs. Gun Rights On Ballot In Washington

Discussion for article #228684

Washington state? I thought the best place for making it anywhere was New York New York!

“It criminalizes lawful behavior” is just a wonderful little piece of propaganda. Doesn’t it sound wrong and bad, for like an eighth of a second? Why in the world would you criminalize lawful behavior? Then the eighth of a second passes and you realize the lawful behavior was selling guns to just anyone, no questions asked. FUNRA.

Isn’t a law that restricts future laws supposed to be a constitutional amendment to avoid the very uncertainty the state will face if both measures pass?

Well, if you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere. It’s up to you.

I’ll go out on a limb here predicting it will pass by large majorities in San Juan, Watcom, King, Pierce and Thurston counties. It will lose, of course, in all the counties east of the Casecades. It will probably pass in Clark and Jefferson counties. This will be more than enough for it to carry. Then you can expect the NRA to bring all its evil pressure to bear.

Under the United States Constitution no American has ever had the right to keep and bear Arms.
For 224 years this sentence has been read only in part and never in the English that it was written in.
It has been subjectively read and interpreted and discerned by the Supreme Court.
It was never written by James Madison, but was first crafted by Benjamin Franklin in the year 1752.
It was crafted for the 18th century and better part of the 19th century until “We the People” would have a better understanding of the real checks and balances of the constitution and the folly of no gun control.
If read objectively it is the Holy Grail of Gun Control and requires only a dictionary to understand it. Nested within its second clause is the inalienable right of “liberty” as found in the Merriam Webster Dictionary. The full story of the 2nd amendment, including just how this was discovered spans 84 years. Only 15 men knew its secret the primary 7 of which are VERY WELL KNOWN framers.

The 2nd amendment as it has been known is about to completely vanish along with any and all of its mystery.
The Author the 2nd amendment knew very well how to write a sentence that could be read with clarity from left to right. It is the readers bias, that has been re-authoring this right of all the people
