I’ve all but stopped watching MSNBC. The hire of Susteren may be the last straw. The cable news channel is no longer a reliable news source.
As for what I read in the media, I’m down to two regular sources, the Guardian US and TPM. I don’t know if Josh Marshall reads the comments, but he’s taken brave stands in his editorials, and I commend him for that.
I won’t say I’ll never watch a cable channel or read other media sources, but, my list of regulars is short.

…yes, but now I will be less likely to watch MSNBC period. I stopped totally after the election, and then returned only because of Rachel and Lawrence. I know that Rachel and Greta are good friends despite their political differences, and maybe she had input into this hire. Greta’s show would lead into Matthews who used to be quite good, but now all he does is interrupt and praises the orange frequently. I feel that this hire and Kelly’s on NBC will turn off liberals and will move us to watch BBC, France 24 and Free SpeechTV more so than MSM. I don’t think that Greta’s Fox audience will follow her because they are bubble oriented and this would take them out of it. I guess MSNBC is running away from the more liberal oriented reporting. Sad times for US are on the horizon.

there are plenty of sites available to learn/educate yourself about what is happening…msnbc…like ALL the media serves the same interests as fox…and though it pains me …i have been saying that for many years,few listened…but…how can ANYONE watch a station that puts that morning joe show on…and just cant seem to find ANY young progressive talent!
btw,maybe someone here can enlighten me since i dont watch her…but…can anyone tell me how many times maddow had zinn on her show before he died?

Also, news flash to MSNBC/NBC News execs…Van Susteren and Megyn Kelly are not going to bring their audiences with them. Does MSNBC/NBC News really think they can just hire Fox’s talent and BOOM ratings bonanza? That’s laughable. Almost as laughable as a network whose slogan was once Lean Forward hiring Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren.

Rachel is not good. She worked damn hard to help Trump get elected. They all did on MSNBC. Remember Chris Hayes altering video to make it appear that Bill Clinton said something he didn’t? Remember the endless hours of Trump rallies and the rare few minutes of Hillary’s? Remember them telling their audience several times an hour that no one likes Hillary, no one trusts her and no on is enthusiastic to vote for her. (Only 3 mil more than voted for Trump) I don’t trust these people any more. Now they are obviously moving to the right. It’s what they were doing all along. So cry me a river, Rachel. You are losing LGBT rights and Women’s rights. Sad to hear. Maybe next time you won’t promote the enemy?

jadez, I know there are other reliable news sources, but I’m talking about regular reads. The witch hunt on Hillary Clinton’s campaign spoiled several news outlets that I had previously considered reliable, including the NYT and the WP. I blame them in part that Trump won the Electoral College.

Agreed. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the media, particularly the likes of Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd who have moments of clarity but ultimately built a false narrative around Clinton, that elected Trump. The fact that there’s a slate of Fox News rejects now joining NBC/MSNBC does little to make me think they’ve fixed the problems with how they cover our government.
