This must be a joke? Trey Gowdy was the walking embodiment of what he now says is all that’s wrong with Congress. What the hell was he up to when he grilled Clinton for partisan reasons? His motives might as well have been tattooed on his forehead: weaken her as a candidate so “his team could win”. Even as Trump emerged as the GOP’s guy Trey was right there on the front line fighting for “his team to win” even if it took the USA back 50 years in victory. Well he’s taken home about 1.5 million in direct compensation and another 500K in bennies for not having a lot to show. And guess what: you’ll be sending him a check for the rest of his life.

I agree. Gowdy has nearly nothing to show for his time in congress, and what he DOES have to show is nasty, brutish, and short. He is a stain on our nation, and I hope he and his ilk suffer half as much as they’ve caused millions of Americans to suffer from their pathetic attempts at leadership.

I kind of think he is. Everything they did to damage Clinton only helped PP get elected. Somewhere in that pea brain he’s got to know that certainly the country and his party would’ve been much, much better off if she’d won. Even if the country survives and is able to shake PP off like a nasty 48 hour flu bug, it’s very unlikely that’ll be the case for the Republican Party. All of it, everything they did, may have only hastened their long term demise. On some level, he must realize that and I hope that knowledge tears him apart and eats at his soul for the rest of his days.
