On the upside, I have at least some reason for optimism that when they stage their Reichstag Fire, no actual buildings will be harmed. On the downside, 40% of the country will believe it happened anyway.

My better half has a daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids living near Sydney, and they hold three passports, US because they were all born here, British and Australian. They’d be deemed suspect because they couldn’t make up their minds where their loyalty lies.

They were going to use the George W. Library, but the one book in it, My Pet Goat, didn’t provide much of a flame.

well, he’s launched the ‘bad hombre’ theory with mexico, threatened iran and north korea, reneged on an agreement with our aussie enemies, and don’t get me going with the muslims. now he’s done with the russki hackers and is flipping on putin. trump’s just trying to keep the world off balance. i don’t see what could possibly go wrong.

“Still, there has been confusion over the immigration order and how long it would take for issues like the deportation of some green card holders to fully resolve themselves.”

@Lauren Fox: Thank you for the article, but please don’t fall into the trap of passive-voice writing. The deportation of green card holders does not resolve itself. The government resolves the situation by making a decision either to deport them or let them stay. Or, the government would resolve it if we had an actual functioning, competent government.

Don’t let them off the hook for a second. They created this problem, they need to fix it.

the 40% will ask you: can you prove it didn’t? Sigh.

Not a problem, KellyAnne Conway will tell us. Yes, those 100,000 Visas were taken away. But we’re going to replace them with POTUS-branded Mastercards.

PeePee advocated during the campaign abolishment of birthright citizenship, and I see the logic could easily extend to rejection of people with multiple citizenship. Meanwhile though, there is no guarantee your loyalty to the US won’t ever be questioned even if you pledge allegiance only to this country…

We would have sacked the sackers who sacked, but we ran out sacks for sackers.

There’s nothing more disgraceful in American history than this, the displacement of American citizens. Here in SF plans were being made in January 1942 to make sure there was an orderly round up of Japanese-Americans. It’s all here.

February 16, 1942
The industrial and Waterfront areas of San Francisco were declared a restricted zone by the military. Aliens and other foreigners were not allowed in the areas and were subject to arrest by the FBI for violations.

The Dept. of Justice has rounded up 1,266 alien Japanese along the West Coast.

Sec. of War Henry L. Stimson met with President Roosevelt about the need to evacuate the Japanese from the West Coast.

I’ve never supported “tin foil hat” conspiracies before and have resoundingly ridiculed them. So much for that idea. From closely watching the last two weeks, your thoughts are now in the realm of believable.

That…in just two weeks.

True. They would be on more solid ground for the U.S. leadership’s acceptance if they had some indication of loyalty to Putin’s Russia.
