well I’d love to but my local dealer is making me wait months
Wow, really?
In many ways, it’s no longer true that you can go into a place of business and stomp your feet until you get what you want, but this may be an exception. If you throw enough of a fit, they will break.
I got like a million robocalls from Honda reminding me about this. Finally did it a few months ago.
Don’t put it off.
I have an '06. I’m fine, right?
This is a new advisory. An older one included my 2007.
Is Honda paying for this? It just says it’s an advisory. Replacing an air bag can go about $1000.
No. Mine is 2005 and I have to have it fixed. The article mentions cars from 2001-2003. That is incorrect.
Google for the Honda recalls and you will find a page that allows you enter your VIN and know for sure.
Yes. This is a Honda recall. They pay for it. And they will pay for a rental car for the day.
If my local dealer put me on a waiting list, I would ask them to pay for a rental until then. I believe people are entitled to it.
Damn straight they are. Good to know.
I have a 2012 and got my notice about a month or two ago. I still have to take mine in. So the recall definitely goes beyond the years mentioned in this article. I think they took the more recent years and worked their way back from the sounds of it. There are a bunch of bad airbags by this company out there. They managed to get away with this awful problem for years. If everyone got their recall notice at once though, imagine the line at the dealership to fix this mess. Its millions of cars, and its not just in the US either.
