Rick Scott Walker. It’s easy to get confused. Sort of like Buddy Rich Little Debbie Harry Truman Capote.
“Florida voters deserve an election system they can be proud of.”
Yeah, right. The biggest embarrassment in the Florida election system is the ridiculously long lines outside polling places in minority districts. But I doubt that Scott has any interest in doing something about that.
Why just in November, he accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan!
“Scott’s administration, in response, said that it would announce its decision on what to do next in 2015.”
One polling station will be open in Tallahassee from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM… Period…
why’s batboy wearing a penis pin on his lapel?
You seem to be Our Man on The Ground in Florida. Thanks.
If the name is Rick, he’s creepy, i.e. Perry, Santorum, Scott.
I only assumed that “Walker” was in reference to a spokesperson for The League of Women Voters.
Rick Scott pretending he wants “100% participation” is even more misleading than the typo.
“…what to do next in 2015…”
Duh. Do it again.
He successfully and intentionally broke the law, got the result he wanted, and walked away with a taxpayer-funded wag of the finger, functionally absolving him. Why wouldn’t he?
Punishment for being 35% African American.
At your service, ma’am!
That’s the penis pump industry award, in recognition of Rick’s Medicare lobbying campaign. If you look real close, you can see JoeScar at the taint.
it still says “walker” for me.
i thought the same as you but clicked through to clear up my confusion. actually the original says this:
“‘Our goal continues to be 100 percent participation by eligible voters and zero percent fraud,’ Scott’s office said in a news release. ‘Florida voters deserve an election system they can be proud of.’”
so yeah, a total lie from rick scott. also agree with other readers that removing the words “illegally” and “suspected” was a bad idea… don’t know what happened on tpm.
Yes, I missed it the first read-through. It’s stlll there
Now hold on a second here. Let’s split a few hairs.
-Does this ruling mean that those purged from the voting rolls will be automatically restored?
-Does this ruling mean that those unjustly disenfranchised for any intervening election(s) since being unjustly purged will be given the chance to cast ballots which will then be legally counted among the certified returns for those elections?
-Does this ruling enjoin the State of Florida from reconstituting these purge programs under a different name, or a different State Regulation or continuing them under another state agency?
Somehow, from what I read here, this victory doesn’t sound so very huge to me.
But then, I’m just a fool who would like to savor a side dish of democracy dipping sauce along with a main course of raw oligarchy.
TPM Headline: Gov. Scott Won’t Fight Ruling On Voter Rolls Purge
He’ll just ignore it instead.
Scott’s administration, in response, said that it would announce its decision on what to do next in 2015.
Nothing is the odds-on favorite, because that’s the way he rolls. Florida is what it is.
According to the Tampa Bay Times story, the quote is attributed to a press release by Scott’s office.
we tried to get rid of this man in the last election. Unfortunately, there were too many lazy democrats who sat on their butts instead of voting.
