Discussion: GOP's Donald Trump Sounds Like A Democrat On Some Issues

After Trump’s meeting with Speaker Ryan, Trump’s top policy adviser Sam Clovis stated that his candidate would be open to cutting Social Security in a speech to the Pete Peterson Foundation. “Right now, we’re not going to touch anything because we can’t predict the growth,” Clovis said. “We have to start taking a look not just at Medicare and Social Security but every program we have out there, because the budgetary discipline that we’ve shown over the last 84 years has been horrible.”

Why do you take Trump’s words seriously? If he takes a position just wait a few days and he will reverse it.

Trump’s policy adviser Sam Clovis just stated in a speech that his candidate’s administration will go after Social Security.

You seem to think that Trump has criticisms and ideas that should be taken seriously. On ISIS
Trump advocated sending 20-30,000 US troops to Iraq to fight the extremist group. But later he reversed himself.

"We have to knock out ISIS. We have to knock the hell out of them. We have to get rid of it. And then come back and rebuild our country, which is falling apart. We have no choice.”

Asked how many troops he would commit, Trump said, “I would listen to the generals, but I’m hearing numbers of 20,000 to 30,000. We have to knock them out fast … So, the answer is we have to knock them out. We have to knock them out fast. And we have to get back home. And we have to rebuild our country, which is falling apart.”

But in an interview with The Washington Post editorial board on Monday, Trump denied having said that he would commit troops.

“The bipartisan bill I’m signing today will help ensure that our government serves as a responsible steward for the tax dollars of the American people, and builds on the efforts we’re taking to cut wasteful spending. Those include my proposal for a three-year freeze on all non-security discretionary spending in my budget and working to put an end to wasteful government contracting and unnecessary no-bid contracts. The bill I’m signing today passed unanimously in both the House and the Senate – a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we put partisanship aside and do what’s best for the people we [serve][1]

"No I’m not Jill Colvin…

Now that Buzzfeed link leads to that Stern interview where Howard asked him about Iraq and Trump acted like a backseat driver, while also stating that he was for the war.

“Every program we have out there”.

Except military programs, which overwhelm all other spending. Take a look at your nearby military base. See any paint peeling on anything in the acres and acres of property? No.

Now, drive over to your neighborhood school building. It’s obvious money isn’t going to schools or local infrastructure.

And as for Social Security, that’s our money. Taken straight out of our paychecks.

Republicans just want to steal it. They’ve already convinced their voters “it won’t be around” for them. They’ve already primed their voters for the theft.

I’m not. Vote Democratic. Save your money from conservative conmen.

Thanks for the link!

Actually, Trump has no fixed policy positions. His policy platform is his personality disorder.
