Discussion for article #225802
Sen Cochran wouldn’t be my candidate (certainly not McDaniel either!), but I’ll give him credit for approaching civility and decency here.
In other words:
“I’ll accept your vote, but I won’t do a damn thing to allow you to cast that vote.”
How white of you, Senator Cochran.
Not sure which is more funny to me, that he needs to declare his desire for colored votes, or that people feel betrayed when he does.
He will get some black votes, but he will lose nearly all the racist votes. They will sit home stewing.
I have to give him credit to. He is showing a lot of class.
I take him at his word. He is a real conservative, but he isn’t a crazy. He has always thought of himself as the Senator from Mississippi not just the Senator from the White Racists of Mississippi.

[/quote] Bah, he’s just trying to shift his appeal to another demographic, or to 2-3 of them. It’s crafty, an impressive pivot indeed, and that’s all I’d give him credit for.
