Discussion: GOPer: What Does Medical Training Have To Do With Writing An Abortion Ban?

Last time I checked my calendar 20 days wasn’t even a full 3 weeks … so it qualifies as day or weeks in the local parlance. This lady said that the raped tend to deal with termination in days or weeks… generally 3 weeks is a questionable length of time to know if one is preggers w/o a preg test. . It requires implantation and the production of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). The earliest such a test can be positive is about 6 days. This lady doesn’t understand basic biology.
((lays head on desk))

I hate burning stupidity like what this lady shows.

And in the 50’s, the media, especially Edger R. Murrow, called out McCarthy for what he was. Now the media loves the hate and racism. They don’t confront it and by continuing to act warmly to the Walkers, Palins, and Trumps they are tacitly approving of it.

And we hope he gets to serve out his term.

I need to point out that in a recent poll in Wisconsin Walker only has a 41% approval rating. In a potential Clinton/Walker match-up, Hillary wins hands down by 12 pts. (52/40). He really is not well liked in this state. The Koch money and a low voter turnout were responsible for giving us Scott and also the fact that he is sly and devious campaigning to garner votes then governing according to his Koch masters. He is a very scary man. I hope that the rest of the electorate finds out what we in Wisconsin already know.

Figure 4 weeks to be sure you’re pregnant, unless you don’t have the spare cash for a pregnancy test (or don’t feel comfortable bringing one into your home), in which case 6 or 10 weeks (especially if you’re young and haven’t had access to decent sex education). Then you just have to save an extra $50-100 a week or so for a few months and get a couple days off work without losing your job. But at least Scott Walker says you’re not worrying.

And that doesn’t even count the people who want a kid but get those test results around week 17 that tell them it’s not going to happen this time around.

“Wisconsin GOPer: What Does Medical Training Have To Do With Abortion Bill?”

OK, what does structural engineering have to do with state laws about bridge construction?

or

Why let the USDA inspect meat packing plants?

or why let meteorologists report on the weather?

Where’s my bourbon?

It is not enough for a doctor who terminates a patient’s pregnancy after 20-weeks to be charged with a felony, fined up to $10,000 & a possible prison sentence. He can be sued by either parent.

Wisc Republican legislators included a provision in their anti-abortion bill that allows the ‘father’ to sue the woman’s doctor, for “emotional & psychological distress,” irrespective of his relationship with the woman, under two conditions:

  1. the doctor performs the procedure after 20 weeks

  2. as long as the pregnancy is not the result of incest or rape.

Walker is doing this strictly to further his own political career at the expense of the lives of women & even girls. It is an egregiously irresponsible craven political stunt. Keeping women safe is simply not a priority for Walker. He has a nomination to win after all!

Still, there is one ray of sunshine shinning through the dark: the 9th U.S. Circuit Court struck down Idaho’s 20-week ban.

Truly outstanding post! FYI, down here in the heart of Dixie, we call the intergenerational hate & white supremacy that you describe “heritage”.

Hope this helps.

Maybe they should stop burying stupid people in WI because they seem to be taking root and bearing nutz.

No, wrong. Most physicians are NOT scientists. They are technicians at best. 15% of physicians are scientists. The rests are mechanics of the body.

Pure unadulterated bullshit.
And it stinks on ice.

I guess you don’t know about the science and physics classes they have to take just to get in to medical school, and of the additional science, physics, anatomy and physiology classes in med school. I think it is condescending to call them technicians, as though they had a few months of training to do one particular task.

The bill matches their belief of what their god dictates so it’s good for all that obey their god and those that don’t will suffer for their disobedience and that is also as it should be.

You don’t know shit about shinola, TCN. And obviously you know nothing about physicians. I, on the other hand, know a lot. I tell physicians what to do, and how to do research. So, I know, and you don’t.

So, sit down, shut up, and stop embarrassing yourself. That’s hard for a blowhard to do, I know.

There are 2 kinds of physicians. 15% are physician scientists. They do research. 85% do not do research. They are technicians. A scientist does science - they test theories, they write papers. 85% of physicians do not. They are mechanics of the body. Which is not a small thing.

Car mechanics have to understand combustion, transmission, etc. However, 95% do not do research, and are not physicists. Physicists invent new engines. Mechanics do not need to understand physics to understand that a dead spark plug produces a specific kind of a noise in a running engine.

And since I am involved in medical education, and work with med students, I know very clearly exactly what they take.
