Our chief weapon is disruption…disruption and dysfunction…dysfunction and disruption… Our two weapons are dysfunction and disruption…and ruthless destruction … Our three weapons are dysfunction and disruption…and ruthless destruction…and an almost fanatical devotion to tax breaks for the donor class … Our four…no… Amongst our weapons… Amongst our weaponry…are such elements as dysfunction and disruption.

Governing, actual governing, requires compromise and the GOP tossed the ability and willingness to compromise out the window during the Gingrich years. Until that changes they will never be able to govern effectively.

Lately, all Republicans seem to have that “asshole-caught-in-the-headlights” look when they are photographed.
But I must give Womack credit where credit is due: he finally admits what us Dems have known forever - Republicans “just simply don’t know how to govern”.

“We just simply don’t know how to govern,” Womack, a member of the House Budget Committee, told the Washington Post. “It’s almost like we’re serving in the minority right now.”

The rest of us have only been pointing this out for literally years, Congressman.

The GOP only knows outrage and opposition. It has no idea how to govern.

Fuck, they need ALEC to write their bills for them!

Gee, maybe you should put in a provision to cancel funding for Whiny’s TelePromptTer, like to tried for President Obama a couple of years ago. Remember that? You were so enamored of the idea while listening to the Fat Junkie mock the president, you actually proposed the idea. But when you got braced about it, you smugly said “Every little bit helps.” Well, maybe THAT’LL help.

They will. They eat their own, but they rarely get the kind of negative media attention for doing so.

Looks to me like a quote that should be in every Democratic candidate’s campaign ads.

She’s certainly a lot more fun to read than she used to be. I think the Trump administration has opened her eyes to a lot that’s wrong with her party.

Ryan’s taking him to the ol’ woodshed for this one.

Telling the truth to the rubes is strictly forbidden.

It is sad that someone states the self-evident and it is considered a revelation!

I think as part of the soul-searching that Democrats have to go through in the minority, this should be a not-too-subtle reminder that building a solid coalition that can govern is a strong second priority to simply winning elections. A Democratic majority can still be held hostage by the Blue Dogs (does the caucus even exist anymore?), as happened during the development of the Affordable Care Act, leaving us with Heritage Foundation Light.

The Republican party has devolved into so many extreme factions with the goal of not governing that they can’t even compromise with themselves.

Well to be fair, you are basically leaderless on all fronts. Maybe the Russians can jump in and save you in orange foolius’ absence.

ALEC probably wrote their “Better Care Act” and Frank Luntz was hired to do the linguistic gymnastics with that ridiculous name on their bill.

I think its about time for another one of those Republican retreats they run to when they find out how badly they all stepped in it.

I always thought they were a tad delusional.

Who knew governing could be so complicated?

That’s what sunk Kevin McCarthy’s rise to Speaker of the House if I recall. He accidentally told the truth.

“But we put together a Benghazi special committee. A select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known that any of that had happened had we not fought to make that happen.”

Pure, unadulterated strategery. Can’t imagine why it backfired for him…
