Actually, the fact that a sitting Senator met with a Russian Ambassador should be 100% public information ALWAYS and should be subject to a FOIA request at any time for any reason no matter what.
You see, Sessions claims that he met with this person IN HIS OFFICIAL CAPACITY AS A SENATOR. We are ENTITLED to know ALL activities undertaken by our representatives in their capacity as such. Unless the soon-to-be-former AG would like to recant and now admit that he was not meeting with the Ambassador in his official capacity…hmm mmmmmmm?
What gets me is the utter arrogance: they are so INSULTED and OFFENDED that they should have to deal with this. Who the hell are YOU, Trey Gowdy? Who the hell are you to tell the public what we should or shouldn’t know. They think they are God-like. Just like Dave Brat (who used to be my representative, thank god, no longer) who cannot stand the fact that someone who gets a $1000 tax credit should not get a penny more in health subsidies.
I ask again: Who the hell do these guys think they are???
“And make no mistake about it—Sessions is a direct result of reporters’ willingness to work a little harder and stay a little later because of the president’s claims against them. The Post holds one distinction that no other paper in the country has: It has brought down a president. And it can smell blood in the water with this administration.”
