Oh please impeach. It’s always a very successful strategy. As a bonus if you succeed we give you President Joe Biden .

Oh for fuck’s sake just do it already. The never ending threats and whining are just bloody tiresome and childish.

Please impeach Obama…I want to see the GOP get decimated in 2016…I want the GOP to bleed out so badly in those elections that we’re talking the Dems taking back both houses and the states and then they can redraw districts to eliminate the GOP majority entirely!

TPM:

Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) said on Monday that impeaching President Obama “would be a consideration” if he moves forward unilaterally on immigration.

GO FOR IT, GOPERS!

Let’s see how well that works out for you in the next general election.

OMG, impeachment, who woulda thunk it? I’m stunned…these Republican 30% off year mandaters, angry old white Bartons, er, men, really have stymied us liberals with a move so subtle it might be called Cruzian. Please proceed…

Bullshit. They’re gonna try to impeach him regardless of what he does. Unfortunately, I don’t think Obama understands that there is literally nothing he can do short of resigning that will induce the Republicans to hold off on impeachment, especially now that the blood’s in the post-election water. Immigration, IRS, ISIS, Benghazi!!!.. it doesn’t matter—if they decide the only thing they can impeach him for is uppity-ness, they’ll go for that.

And even if he did resign, the GOP sociopaths would just adjust their crosshairs to Biden and start accusing him of the same shit they’re accusing Obama of.

It’s open season on Democrats, in another words, and it’s going to get a whole lot worse than it is now.

This one’s for all those a-hole republicans who are saying “Oh, they would never impeach … that’s a Democrat talking point to raise money.” You people have to be the thickest, most unreasonable, fact-denying misfits ever. Joe Barton epitomizes your ilk.

Well… reasonable people thought they were idiots, but Clinton was pretty much useless for his last two years, and Bush was elected (as it were) despite strong economic metrics. I’d say it worked out pretty well for them.

Says the guy who apologized to BP officials over how mean they were treated by members of Congress after the Gulf oil spill.

“We would never impeach… I mean, that takes a two-thirds vote!”

That’s as honest and comforting a statement as “I would never cheat on you, honey… I mean, when I’m drunk enough to bang someone, who’d be interested in gettin’ with me?”

Proceed.

Let’s call their bluff.

They will impeach, just like they sued. This current crop of republicans is all about talk. The smart ones know that impeachment is a threat to show the base they are standing up to Obama.

OTOH, this current batch of Republicans did shutdown government over Obamacare. If they are stupid enough to overreach on the shutdown, they just might be that dumb to impeach over an EO.

Good luck explaining that though.

Please, oh please do it; maybe it’ll turn out as well for you as the last time.

But Boehner insists the GOP does not bring up the impeachment subject!

Joe Barton would impeach the POTUS on a dare, while naked and drunk and shooting empties off a fence post at [N-word] Head Ranch with indicted Governor Oops! while making scattered references to lynchings and cross burnings. In other words, nothing new to see here folks.

Obama’s response:

“I want to show the American people that I am more than willing to work with the other side and will do everything I can to move the Impeachment process along in a bi-partisan manner.”

I would not be surprised if he really says something like this when they inevitably move to impeach.

Crikey, if the Constitution still allowed and he were to run again, he’d win again in 2016, they’d regain enough control 2 years later to restart the impeachment engine, and in 2019 they’d relaunch. It’s never-ending: if a Democrat gets elected president, impeachment some time in the second term is inevitable.
