we need an election correction mechanism, this arcane “deadline” electioneering is what gives them the urgency to facilitate their cheating. They couch “the peaceful transition of power” as an emergency of great urgency, rather than as a simple, basic necessity that will eventually occur.
That false urgency netted W for us almost a couple decades ago, maybe we need to look at eliminating that deadline anxiety as one or those changes we can easily manage in a technologicaly advanced.21st Century.
The integrity of any election should be the first priority, pushing things along as if the word will suddently collapse if the vote count has to be verified somehow is just proof they give lipservice to democracy but their wicked, greedy hearts are far from it
I am not sure they should. That will open door for future where electors would be openly bribed by the other party (think Obama vs Romney). Solution is to simply dissolve EC. That wont happen unless Republican Party is at the receiving end.

…you’d think the whole globe is going to explode when some Republican doesn’t get certified immediately, even when based on questionable results, those old deadline rules create a system where a candidate can be “certified” before the count is really verified.
Seriously, you’d think they’d have figured this out long ago watching Congressional House Republicans do their bi-annual deadline two-step so many times, and that deadline anxiety is haunting us in the here and now, in a very BIG way.
