Those aren’t exactly ringing endorsements and votes of confidence from Hatch and Rubio either.

“At some point, something needs to happen,” he said. "The president has
continued to ignore the law, continued to unilaterally take upon himself
unconstitutional powers, and someone needed to do something about it.

Whaaaa??? “Something” needs to happen and “someone” needed to do “something”.
You know, I’m having better a better feeling about holding the Senate in the midterms.

I have to ask if any one of the people quoted in the article has actually read the Constitution

As am I. Suing the president, talk of impeachment, the Benghazi panel, etc. all seem like desperate attempts to do anything they can to gin up their base and to depress the Democratic base. It feels not like a party trying to excite their base, but one that feels it’s already losing.

If this actually goes to court, that would be awesome because then I could also sue people because of “stuff and things.”

It was fine when gwb and ol 5 deferments used unilateral executive to foul the 9/11 inquiries, draft there energy strategy behind closed doors, use reserve troops instead of a official draft and start two unfunded wars.

I agree on that. The dynamics of this are just mindblowing. The GOP hasn’t had any actual “policy” discussions since - what, 2012? And those policies weren’t well received (yeah, I’m looking at Paul Ryan).

You would think that the GOP base is revved up enough by now. I mean, it’s been a steady stream of Benghazi, Bergdahl, IRS, no free birth control for sluts, etc. What in the name of Christ would they further need to get out and vote? If victory is all but assured for a GOP Senate, what’s with the overkill?

I think it’s time to try Dick Cheney and George Bush for war crimes. The authorized torture. Talk about over-reach.

Landrieu,Hagan and Begich leading in their races and GA and KY being dead heats should have you feeling better about holding the Senate this November.

The problem for the GOP leadership is that it has led by its base and does not lead its base.

The GOP base hates Obama and and wants him wipped and humiliated. But the GOP lacks the power thanks to a little thing called the constitution. The one thing the GOP has been able to lead its base on is to get them to believe the constitution says whatever they want it to say and not to be confused by the facts.

So the GOP base believes if it leaders were pure they should easily be able to wip Obama. Hence to keep its base from revolting the GOP leadership must keep finding new and even more cynical ways of fighting Obama.

At some point in time, Republicans need to characterizes as a disloyal opposition. As in not principled, and not patriotic. They need to be tarred as beyond the pale of democratic governance.

Disloyal.

And look, there’s something wrong with the president," Hatch said,

He’s right, there sure is. For one, he’s a Democrat, and two he’s black. That’s two strikes right there. Oh, and he passed the ACA. That’s three strikes and he’s out.
