Discussion: GOP Senators Seize On NYT Report To Grill Barr On Anti-Trump Bias At FBI

Just replace word “Trump” with “crime” and it makes sense.
The FBI’s “anti-CRIME bias” compelled them, not anything to do with Trump, personally.
Plain and simple.
Call it what they will, Senate Republicans can’t change what it really means. When evidence mounts, the guilty get investigated, and calling it personal bias is just laughable under the weight of the evidence.
After what they saw Trump pull during and after the elections, particularly relative to Putin, if the FBI HADN’T had an “anti-Trump bias”, they wouldn’t be doing their jobs.
Had they NOT investigated, it would have been evidence of a PRO-Trump bias. It just doesn’t happen the other way around.
Their desperation is palpable. Watching them flail and enjoying it made me wonder, does schadenfreude have healing qualities? I think so.

“In your experience with the FBI, is it strange to have a counterintelligence investigation begun because members of that bureau disagree with the foreign policy stances of a candidate for president?” Josh Hawley asked.

I think there were a few more reasons for beginning the investigation than that, Freshman Senator Dickhead from Missouri.

Nice to see your first appearance on the national stage is so, shall we say, soon-to-be-proved on the wrong side of history and legality … and Americanism.

Ironic. How low can they go? Just when you think the sewer bottom has been reached.

That comment made wonder if the Trump/Pecker scandal is about to mushroom…

While “Nuke the entire site from orbit–it’s the only way to be sure” is tempting, it would be a little messy and too many innocents would die.

Someone in the FBI leaked to Rudy Giuliani just prior to the 2016 election about Hillary… But somehow we don’t hear the Republicans complaining about those leaks…

He forgets that the only real agenda is to defend the Constitution. Instead he defends Trump, somebody he once correctly called “a race-baiting, xenophobic bigot.” from CNN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bkDykGhM8c&feature=youtu.be

“In terms of people who are actually enforcing the law, don’t we want to make sure they don’t have an agenda?”

My interpretation is that the agenda of people who are actually enforcing the law is to generally enforce the law, which includes investigating a well founded suspicion that Trump may be a Russian agent.

I wonder how he feels about jailing a president for “[tweeting] out stuff that they know will harm the country.”

This one seems easy to swat down.
If the FBI really had an anti-Trump bias, then information regarding any suspicions/investigations would’ve been announced publicly before the election, like they did with Hillary Clinton, right?

Instead of calling Drumpf by his real name I am going to henceforth call him “Crime”.

Donald Crime.

I would wager that, from now on, any time I speak Drumpf’s name and place “Crime” in the place of “Drumpf”, I will be Universally Understood

My first take: Donald Crime has been able to use his ETTD skills in turning these lemmings from ordinarily obnoxious GOPPERS to Russian Agents. I do not believe that Donald Crime actually has the skills PERSONALLY to bring this about (he’s got a crew) but his highly effective skills as a Demagogue in capturing the minds of the U.S. Right definitely put the fear of the Almighty in the GOPPER brain…thus producing (among other things)

  • Motivation by fear of being primaried
  • Motivation by fear of being compromised by Russia

Huck Graham is scared of the latter, for real…and for that Donald Crime’s got Vlad

Of course there is a anti-trump bias… By their very nature the FBI is anti-con-man, anti-grifter, anti-criminal & anti-russian spy. By the time they climb this ladder of bad social traits and criminal behavior they see none other then Donald Trump. It is illogical to assume that they would be neutral or in favor of Trump when he is the embodiment of everything they deplore.

That may prove to be much more important than most realize.
There are a whole lot of secrecy experts who have considered Trump’s tweets illegal from the start.
Seriously, each and every one of them may be a violation, but particularly those that try to directly influence investigations and witnesses.
And when he deletes tweets, he’s destroying government property that belongs to The People.
Trump’s tweeter may be the smoking gun someday.
I’ve always said, we know Trump lets Putin tap his tweeter.
Puts a whole new light on it.

We must do whatever we can to stop the FBI from being biased towards those who break the law and undermine the United States. /s

I’m simply astounded at how Republicans can rationalize that upholding the law, and the preservation of the American institution of democracy is somehow a bias against Dotard T rumpp.

Not to mention how much bad faith it is considering many of the people are Republican appointees and if it wasn’t for the FBI bias against Hillary drump would never have won in the first place.
