Discussion: GOP Senator: ‘Yeah,’ Trump’s Cabinet Picks Should Be Treated Differently

This is the kind of arrogance and hubris that bullies show, when they know that nobody will stand to them. They don’t fear consequences, since their reelection is virtually assured. They don’t fear the press, because the media has completely emasculated itself in the altar of ratings. History will not be kind to us.

What is it with all these women lying to cover up the gaffes of the idiots they work for… First that witch Conway lying to beat the band, now this Letendre.

I assume they earned their skills by smiling and swearing, oh, yes, the biggest one I’ve ever seen, darlin’.

OK is cattle country. Doing a sheep might cost you an election, too.

But you didn’t hear it from me because I never said it anyway.

And you’re taking it out of context - even if I did say it. Which I didn’t. All you’re trying to do is confuse the voters.

But to clarify - maybe I misspoke - that’s a possibility - but I’m sticking with my original statement - whatever it was - and not filtered by you and the liberal press trying to play your tiresome gotcha moments when my constituents know what’s in my heart. And that’s all that matters.

They’re not even pretending not to be hypocritical anymore.
[/quote]Being hypocritical means holding out a pretense of certain beliefs, principles, or virtues but behaving in a way that shows these are not real or sincere. Republicans truly believe that there should be different standards and principles applied to Democrats and Republicans. So, to actually use and act on those different standards and principles is not hypocritical at all. It would only be hypocritical if you pretended that the same standards and principles applied to everyone, which they clearly don’t in a Republican’s mind (and heart).

Inhofe is a Republican, and can therefore be assumed to be an asshole. Sad.

Welcome to the age of Trump

  • where being reasonable, logical and providing equitable treatment - is a sign of weakness.

Which is precisely why we need to stop being reasonable, logical and equitable and just get down dirty and fight.

“Of course my statement that there should be a double standard should in no way be construed to mean I said that I think there should be a double standard.” --Inhofe.

Mr Orwell, your thoughts?

It is time for outrage. Time for anvils. Time to place each misguided and destructive statement, each crappy policy idea, each duplicitous act around the neck of each and every republic party member and let them explain each and every time how they are acting in the best interests of the country – or – are they just acting in the best interests of their buddies.

We know the answer, but they need to be asked again and again the same insulting questions because, just fucking because. Why is it that brazen disregard for norms is not causing outrage is just…oh. fuck this.

O hell, we were in the teens last weekend and we are hitting 80+ again today and next weekend it goes back down for a day and back up to the mid 80s. In a land of very fucked up weather, this is the most fucked up I’ve seen it.
