Sasse is much, much more conservative than I am, but he has courage and integrity that is lacking in his colleagues. He’s by no means perfect–he hasn’t promised to vote against Betsy DeVos, for instance, but he’s head and shoulders above most Republican senators.

But to continue that thought… a “judge” is both a title and an job description. In this case, man fills out either of those definitions. However, to extend the analogy to Mr Trump it would be unfair to label him as the “so-called President”; He IS the President. But, it would be very fair to describe him as our so-called leader.

Is the dam starting to break? Are even Republicans starting to figure out what a disaster President Trump is for everyone? I read a comment on another thread that said, “Something has to give, and soon…” I’m guessing that a lot of people are coming to that realization.

Hey Sen Sasse, go to the White House and have that private talk with your President! As a matter of fact, it may be good “optics” to show your constituents that you have the ability to stand up to this “so called” president! After all, we all know that Russia played a huge part in swaying the elections in Trump’s favor. The only thing we are missing is knowing the specifics that’s currently classified!

I’m all for better civics education for our kids, but the most urgent need is for intensive remedial civics education for the angry, petulant Man-Baby currently occupying the Oval Office.

The legislative branch of our government is also very real. There are sufficient members of your party in Congress to exert some checks and balances. If you don’t do it, you and the other members of your party are complicit.
