A fascinating point of view. It really appears as if you’ve thoroughly thought this through.

“Too defensive”?

Is that a nice way of saying the President is wetting himself with “Do Something”? This is the part of the movie where the bully gets his comeuppance. Where the mask gets ripped off and we see the frightened little boy within.

Corker is right, of course. Trump is scarily unfit to be President. Portman’s on the right track, but needs to brew a concoction a bit stronger than “too defensive”. Because honestly, I’m just hoping we survive this Administration.

Trump isn’t being “Too defensive," he is being [defensive] because he is guilty.

It’s crazy to give credit to someone for stating what’s clearly obvious. But with so many Republicans burying their heads in the sand regarding Russian interference in our election, I suppose I’ll give Portman some credit. I guess it means my expectations of Republicans are zero.

Portman said Russia interfered “long before Donald Trump.”

“They’re going to do it long after Donald Trump, if we don’t do something about it,” he said. “So we need to get to the bottom of it. And we need to go where the facts lead us.”

Why does Senator Portman hate our President and country so much?
MAGA, MAGA!

No senator, we shouldn’t “focus on the outrage”… we should focus on the means that brought this about and stop it from happening in the future.

As much as I dislike the mediocrity, Portman, unlike some of his colleagues, I doubt Rob’s burdened by any “kompromat” .

Trump has confused whining with winning.

Interesting point, and funny thread attached to it:

Dear Senator Portman,
To prevent Russia or any other foreign country from interfering in our elections, have you proposed any legislation, have you suggested that some agency take the lead, are you asking for an appropriation of adequate sums to do the work? Isn’t that what legisltors are supposed to do, especially when the executive branch has gone missing (if it hasn’t defected.)? Time to DO SIMETHING, as the President suggests, although not what he has in mind. Be a hero, Senator, do something good.

In an attempt to prevent more evidence of obstruction of justice, Trump attorney Ty Cobb is out today saying Trump’s Sunday morning tweets are not, repeat not about the Mueller investigation or reported indictments. For instance, this one is most definitely not about the investigation…“Instead they look at phony Trump/Russia ‘collusion,’ which doesn’t exist. The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for the country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the R’s are now fighting back like never before. There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!” Just throwing the terms “Dems,” “politics” and “R’s” in there does not make this something other than an attack on the investigation into the Trump/Russia collusion and its off-shoots.

Just be aware, as I’m sure you already are, that if you say “Hey, Republican So-and-so said something sane, and that’s a good thing,” someone may pop up and say “BUT HE SAID AND DID SEVERAL BAD THINGS RECANT YOU HERETIC.” And you can say OK, no argument, but we’re not talking about the Kill the Puppies Act from four months ago, we’re talking about this thing he said today. And it won’t matter. Personally I think we’re going to see first the slightly less crazy and then more and more full-on crazies slowly acknowledge that this Trump craziness is just all too crazy even for them. Many will have said and done naughty things. But we should encourage them when they’re less so. Call me crazy myself.

He thinks Trump is too defensive. I think he’s too offensive. All the time.
