Discussion: GOP Senator: Trump's 'Extreme Vetting' Order Was 'Not Properly Vetted'

Senator: We are in a full blown constitutional crisis. What will you do to end it?

So far, the only airline to comment is British Airways. They are pissed. They are refunding the costs of flights for those affected and providing vouchers for future travel.

Trump has already assured the country that heā€™s, like, a smart person, and that he knows more about ISIS than the generals. It is only his deep sense of humility that keeps him from telling us there was no need to vet his EO because he also knows more than the career professionals at DHS, the Justice Department, the State Department, the Department of Defense, and the National Security Council lawyers.

I sleep well knowing the country is being managed by the greatest Renaissance man since Dubya to grace us with his presence.

I think so too.

Totally silent. In fact the entire GOP except the ones who have been cornered by the press are totally silent about this.

I faxed and emailed them yesterday and Cornyn is the only one who responded but with an auto generated response, but I thanked him for it just the same.

Yeah Iā€™d be surprised if they are the only ones and even if we donā€™t hear anything I still suspect that major carriers contacted people in the government yesterday and last night.

I bet the phone never stopped in the White House yesterday and last night.

I know Iā€™m being selfish, but I just thought of something. The last weather delay that got me stranded - I was able to get American to give me 20,000 miles to appease me. That was for weather. If that man causes me a delay, I should probably aim for 50,000 miles for the inconvenience.

Undoubtedly, just the first of many 3 am phone calls the Gold House is going to receive.

I smell lawsuits. If nothing else all the legal actions will be a new and novel experience for the Drumpf. /s

Nope. Trump can make them pretty miserable. Of course I assume their legal staff is looking hard at how to respond if Trump tries to mess with them because they stand up for themselves. I assume everyone vulnerable is thinking about that. They sure ought to be.

Good point. I hadnā€™t thought of that (I guess Iā€™ve been retired from law practice too long - donā€™t see lawsuits everywhere anymore.)

I would hope their lawyers are drawing those suits up right now.

Trump: Small government does not require vetting.

Petition to ban Trump state visit reaches over 330,000 signatures. Only takes 100,000 to trigger debate in House of Commons

You know they are. Moreover, this wasnā€™t just a few domestic carriers he screwed with. And if Iā€™m not mistaken, many of those carriers are national airlines, i.e. owned and operated by governments.

And just as a reminder: This is only Day 10 (or 7 depending on whether you use reality or TrumpTimeĀ® as your metric).

Jeezus, @tena, how many lawsuits are going now? Hell, the Emoluments lawsuit was filed on the 20th. How many more have been filed since then?

Thatā€™s true - they are owned by governments.

They have got to be furious.

I donā€™t know and he already had over 70 pending.

Guess what, Rob? Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway and 98% of Trump voters hate your son because he is gay. More than a few of them think he deserves to be murdered because of that.

You can probably get an honorary membership in the Log Cabin Republicans, though. Youā€™d fit right in with those quisling collaborators.
