You think??
The natives are getting restless. Bannon (I mean Trump) would best be advised to listen.
The entire GOP has not been properly vetted. They sure have the “extreme” part well in hand, though.
Particularly Darth Bannon…
Advisors have claimed that the order is not the ban on Muslim immigration that Trump often touted on the campaign trail, but the order stipulates that Christians and other members of minority religions be given priority over Muslims.
I’m no attorney, but this appears to be blatantly unconstitutional.
Republicans are in the majority right now. If they don’t speak out and act in accordance with our values, we’re going to be less safe, not more, while losing face the world over.
“We’ve got to do it in a way that’s consistent with our values and consistent with our national security,” Portman said. “We
areused to be this beacon of hope and opportunity for the rest of the world. That’swas our self-image. It’salso used to be an important part of our foreign policy.”
FIFY, Rob. Welcome to the Fourth Reich.
No Shit, Sherlock. Sorry. I just read the headline and shook my head.
I think this Senator just realized all those phone calls, emails, messages on his twitter feed, and letters are starting to pile up.
YOU. FUCKING. OWN. THIS!
If it walks like a government establishment of religion, and it talks like a government establishment of religion, and it’s blatantly presented as a government establishment of religion, it may well be a government establishment of religion.
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution, states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…
And no, just because the President does it does not mean that it is not illegal.
It’s always heartwarming to know that our nation’s lawmakers have not only never read the Constitution, it makes one feel even fuzzier to know they probably wouldn’t understand it anyway.
Hmm, I wonder how many days before Micturition Man blows off the No Religious Test Clause?
Just because there’s a “religious test” involved? Nah, it fits in right in with Christofascism.
I’m not sure if anyone has caught on yet, but Senator Portman had dark brown hair, and was 10 pounds heavier about 10 days ago …
Um, why don’t you tell us, Senator, what the American air carriers have had to say about this chaos on one of the heaviest travel days of the week? I doubt they are happy.
Portman was just reelected. I’d look to him, McCain, and those with a full six year term, or those who aren’t running again, to be the voices of the not-completely-out-of-their-minds caucus. Peepee probably won’t make it four years, but if he does I doubt there are very many folks who believe he’ll be reelected. The ones with a full six year term have the ability to oppose him, publicly disagree with him, etc. because they don’t have to worry about him trashing their reelection bid.
Fingers crossed…
Can any GOPer provide a reason that actually makes sense as to why Plump excluded Muslim countries that Blimp does business with?
I wrote again this morning to both my senators. They are Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. I’ve always despised Cornyn, but he’s not Cruz and I am pounding him with email and I keep trying to call but the bastards won’t empty their voicemail boxes.
I’m not letting up until the day Trump and his monsters are gone.
Spicer’s out there saying they couldn’t inform people in advance about this shitshow because of an “imminent threat.”
But enough about Sean Spicer. I have a bridge I need to sell in a hurry:
Speaking of Cruz, maybe it’s just me, but it sure does seem like Cruz, Rand Paul, Rubio, and a number of the Look At Me caucus have gone radio silent. It’s really odd.
Technically the No Religious Test Clause relates to employment with the federal government. But it’s not too late for Comrade Coir Coif to take a flamethrower to that, too.
I’m sure all the American air carriers were mollified to hear that after the government totally disrupted the busiest travel day of the week.
I’d like to hear something from the airlines but bet we won’t.
